See.. this is what always amuses me about Janet threads in particular: half the posts are from people who say how shitty she is!
I find it funny--literally because usually when I don't enjoy an artist, I have nothing to say. I simply don't care enough to post. I might comment on occasion, but more often than not, if I don't have anything positive to say, I skip the thread. Most of the time, I'm not even current regarding artists in which I'm not particular interested. In other words, I don't listen to artists whom I don't enjoy usually unless curiosity gets the better of me, and that doesn't happen very often unless they drop something I actually like. But it sure seems like Janet brings-out the hate in people. A lot of people think fans of any Jackson are irrational, but it seems to me some "non-fans" aren't particularly rational either. And it seems to be the same people. But whatever floats your collective boat. Like I said if you want to continue to comment upon a person you think is a non-entity, then by all means go on ahead.

I am a longtime Janet fan who does like the new album, I can just say that of course it's irrelevant what others think about her. It doesn't change the fact that I like the album. But like I said I am a Janet FAN so...who doesn't like to see one of their favorites do well on the charts?? It's like the cherry on top so to speak. I hoped the album would perform better but oh well. As long as she sells enough to keep making albums, that's all that matters at this point. | |

This goes on all the time here We have a thread devoted to Madonna's new album,and there are a few folks who clicked on the link,only to announce that they're not interested in the new album.I'm like,Wtf??! Why are you on the thread then? LOL.When I don't like an artist,I don't even bother with their new music.I don't buy it,download it,or show any interest.There are many artists that I used to like,but I don't listen to them anymore.It wasn't hard for me to move on.Can't see why others can't do the same. | |

Why talk about a non-entity? Well, why do people talk about George Bush? We all know he's a buffoon, but the fact is that buffoon is in a very powerful position. What does it say about the system that such a klutz can be President? It says connections will trump talent every time. Janet represents the same phenomenon in the entertainment industry. Talent and vision are both seen as irrelevant and thus you have the climate in which vacuous phonies like Janet, Britney and the rest can thrive. That's my beef. Janet herself can't help being average. It was just circumstances that put her in a position where she was expected to be more than that. That's why she says she felt like a fraud before, because she is a fraud. I have no doubt that in her heart she still feels that way now. I understand where you are coming from because like I said, I've been pissed-off at artists, then posted my feelings in a thread or two. But for some of ya'll, it's ALL THE TIME.
