Morrissey's "Christian Dior" is the most shockling candid and personnal track Moz ever did! The lyrics are really intense. It's a b-side. Christian Dior You wasted your life On aroma and clothes Fabric and dyes Christian Dior You wasted your life On grandeur and style And making the poor rich smile You could have run wild On the backstreets of Lyon or Marseille Reckless and legless and stoned Impregnating women Or kissing mad street boys from Napoli Who couldn't even write their own name Christian Dior You wasted your life Sensually stroking the weaves of a sleeve You could have run wild On the backstreets of Lyon or Marseille Reckless and legless and stoned Impregnating women Or kissing mad street boys from Napoli Who couldn't even spell the wrong name Christian Dior Christian Dior When you look at me Failure is all that you see I discipline my days just like Christian Dior I could've run loudly and proudly All forcible entry And morally bankrupt And never non-violent And drawn to what scares me And scared of what bores me Years alone will never be returned Christian Dior Lionise maverick Design if you can The way to just be a man To just be a man Christian Dior Christian Dior Christian Dior Christian Dior

I love this track and one of the best of his recent B-sides...
"And drawn to what scares me And scared of what bores me Years alone will never be returned..." These lines kill me as someone looking back at their life and regretting not living sooner...fantastic. "There is no such thing in life as normal..."

I like alot the Ringleard and all of it's b-sides. There's a certain bitterness in that era. Maybe even regret.

I think that in LA and Rome he has had a taste of freedom, escape and a love life- suddenly realizing what he'd been without all those years?
I think for him getting older has been a great relief that he's made it this far creatively and personally...he's suddenly feeling alive..."In The Future When All's Well"??? "There is no such thing in life as normal..."

Clearly some songs are romantic.
And the italian references are there. "You have killed me" is a perfect example. While "You are..." was political, "Ringleader..." is very confessional.

He's really turned into a Hot Daddy type.
