Janet Jackson,Kylie,Madonna etc

These are all pop fluff.

Why are there so many posts about these inane artists.

The radio is full of drivelly shit like these and no woonder when so many have such simple tastes.

I get annoyed at hearing crap all the time.

Simply Red, George Micheal. Micheal Jackson, Snow Patrol, Cold Play,

Bot boring boring muisc.

I want to turn on my radio and Hear Nirvana, Black Sabbath, Led Zep, Cream, The Who. The White Stripes, Radiohead, Husker Du, Pixies, Eels.

Inventive music with balls. Music that Rocks.

Strange that american radio doesn't play kylie, madonna or janet! What planet do live?

The real enemy is shit-hop and rap! Not pop!

Sorry but are arrogant and a hipster! Pseudo intelectual...or something more "chic". Like the lot of you. Also I sense some homophobia on your post.

Now I'm gonna put my pink tutu and dance to some gay music like U2 or even...damm jimi hendrix!

Open your musical mind...their songs aren't all 'throwaway'...I love Radiohead, Nirvana etc...but 'pop artists' can be of worth too- guitar doesn't automatically equal intelligence.

Madonna "Mer Girl"

I ran from my house that cannot contain me
From the man that I cannot keep
From my mother who haunts me, even though she's gone
From my daughter that never sleeps
I ran from the noise and the silence
From the traffic on the streets

I ran to the treetops, I ran to the sky
Out to the lake, into the rain that matted my hair
And soaked my shoes and skin
Hid my tears, hid my fears

I ran to the forest, I ran to the trees
I ran and I ran, I was looking for me

I ran past the churches and the crooked old mailbox
Past the apple orchards and the lady that never talks
Up into the hills, I ran to the cemetery
And held my breath, and thought about your death

I ran to the lake, up into the hills
I ran and I ran, I'm looking there still
And I saw the crumbling tombstones
All forgotten names

I tasted the rain, I tasted my tears
I cursed the angels, I tasted my fears

And the ground gave way beneath my feet
And the earth took me in her arms
Leaves covered my face
Ants marched across my back
Black sky opened up, blinding me

I ran to the forest, I ran to the trees
I ran and I ran, I was looking for me
I ran to the lakes and up to the hill
I ran and I ran, I'm looking there still

And I smelled her burning flesh
Her rotting bones
Her decay

I ran and I ran
I'm still running away.

We all have different taste in music. Just because people on here like Janet, Michael, George, Kylie, and others don't mean that we don't have good taste. Those artists are very talented.

Also, you're on PRINCE.ORG, a site dedicated to a pop icon....so you're going to get a huge fans of POP music wink

What I always wonder is why anyone would give a damn if other people like and talk about music that they don't particularly care for themselves. What's it to you?

I agree those artists are (mostly) inane, but how comes all the artists you approve of are guitar bands?

Everyone has a different outlook on music and music has a different affect on each person. Personally, I enjoy music from real musicians/songwriters. I do like some pop music (who doesn't), but I prefer real music to those that just perform. Artists who write their own music, sing live and can play an instrument will always be high on my list. I have much more respect for these folks as opposed to those like Janet, Madonna, Britney etc, etc. These people mostly lip-sync and do silly moves all over the stage for attention. I'd much rather watch a real musician play and sing (even if it's off-key)!!
