I love the song and video, it's so simple yet it works! My favourite part is when she's worn out, gets kissed and is so hyper after and then the transvestite leads her back to the dancefloor and they're both excited smile

I love the gayness in it smile

I really think that if Come On Get Up from All For You got released and the promo wasn't halted by Virgin, the video would have looked just like this one, but it works much better with Rock With U.

It does, since the groove isn't interrupted. The song was made for a 1-take video.

I love her one take videos LOL I also love the randomness in the background, like the blowing bubbles, and all the costumes and accessories people are wearing. It's fresh to see that kind of party in the background instead of a random gangsta one like in every hip hop video

I see new details every time I watch it. I love videos like that.

Whereas Got Til It's Gone celebrated the black experience, I feel this video celebrates the gay experience, in that it shows the diversity of the community, as well as the spirit of togetherness and enjoyment. I love that it is the transsexual who lifts Janet up and brings her into this circle of people on the dancefloor.

I like the way she smiles after the guy kisses her.

And when they all gather around her and then break away.

Not to bring up the choreography again but I think it works much better with a camera than it perhaps on a stage where you just have one view. It became fluid in a way that I wasn't getting on GMA.

yeah GTIG was very random and unexpected for janet, it took awhile to grow on me and appreciate the artistic value of it, cause I was used to janet being all glammed up and dancing at the time. You know what's funny though? I remember a fan saying that when Janet was asked about her African roots and the video, she answered that it was the director's idea and they would know best or something like that, and found that kind of weird, cause I know she and her team were heavily involved in a vision.

It was the GMA cameras that were fucked, not the choreography.

Yeah, it wasn't Mark Romanek's vision. In interviews for the album, Janet explains how she developed the theme of the video. She had done a lot of research.

oh so janet did develop it after all eh? I heard the opposite from someone else, they must have misunderstood her, cause this fan's English wasn't very good.

From the way she talked about it, she was very passionate. That whole era, I think, was special.

In the same manner, Saam says Janet had the theme for Feedback and Rock With U videos in mind, and that he basically took orders from her. I think they work very well together. I didn't like the Feedback video, but I can't blame the director. lol

I don't like the opening at all but in the video it works. Well, I can't wait to see it in concert but by then I'll be so excited it won't matter.

The first CD I purchased was Design of a Decade. I didn't get hardcore, however, until JANFAN4L started hyping the forum for the release of Damita Jo. I credit him with turning me into the fan I am today!

Wow, where the heck is JANFAN4L? Haven't seen him (now that I know it's a him) in a while.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Oh my! This is nice. That's two songs in a row that I've heard that don't make me want to vomit. In fact, I actually like them quite a lot. Nice vid, too.

I'm definitely going to listen to this album now lol

cool, I think you will really enjoy it! It's better than Damita Jo and 20 YO, even though those have good tracks here and there.
