WHY are we shocked? This show features straight out "playing", im not surprised that Madonna isnt performing mainly because she isnt a musician, its that simple. She is a great performer, but like Elton John said years ago, shes not a "live act" call her a great performer or great "concert show" but thats different than getting up there and doing a great all live show. Im not taking away from what she has accomplished but im not surprised she isnt playing, i didnt think she would. I will be spending this show watching John Mellencamp, now theres a live performer, long overdue for entry.

Exactly. Small venue, stage with no room for dancers, no voice enhancement?

Come on.

nod With Madonna it's all about the props she uses to mask her lack of talent. Without access to any of that, and particularly with a discerning rock and roll crowd watching, she would embarrass herself and everyone watching. Madonna is wise not to perform as it would show her for what she is....a trespasser. But then again, the media would be too cowardly to say anything anyway, so maybe she should just go ahead and do it. lol

Well, here she is performing without the usual fancy lights, dancers, disco balls, etc. You tell me what you think.....

falloff She sounds kinda rough to be honest. Like she's trying too hard. I have to admit, I've laughed a bit throughout that performance. I wonder if my gay card is going to be revoked for laughing at Madonna? lol lol lol

Whilst I'm not an expert on gay etiquette, I suspect you may be in trouble. But perhaps you can claw back some respect in the community and gain credibility at the same time. Clap and cheer for the one gay icon born after 1950 who's actually talented.....

Cyndi's on point right there! I saw her perform with Prince at the Aladdin aftershow in 2002 and I didn't realize what a great singer and performer she is. Girl's got some soul in her! She should be going to the Hall of Fame too. nod Oh and I wish one of my gay brethern would try to get after me for dogging Madonna. lol

You weren't alone in that. To this day most people don't realize how gifted she is. They just think of some wacky urchin with orange hair running around TV studios lip synching "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun". Definitely one of the most underrated pop artists ever. Her songwriting's incredible too.

P.S. So what song did she sing with Prince, "When You Were Mine"?

Well, it is the Rock and Roll Hall of FAME. As far as fame goes, Madge is among the elite. Would I say she's a legend? Yeah. For being famous.

Unfortunately, I can't remember exactly what it was but it wasn't "When You Were Mine". I think and I may be wrong here, but I think it was the song "I Can't Stand The Rain". Prince was on the guitar while she and her background singers sang and it was great.

Lord knows, Iggy should've been inducted way before her. No disrespect to Madge but, he's paid far more dues in the biz.

The Ann Peebles song that Tina Turner covered? hmmm I could see Cyndi doing that.

Yeah, I can see that too.

The good thing about Prince having guest singers is it stops him from doing twenty minute jams. That's my biggest complaint with his shows. That and his habit of singing just a verse and a chorus of his best songs.
