I'm suspicious about the Usher song being at #1 confused

Has it even hit number #1 yet on the charts, it's been out since November? How the HELL is Usher number 1 already.

I'll give it up for Snoop , the dude has staying power. If you would have told me in '93 when he was singing with Dre on Nuthin but a G thang, he would have a Top 10 hit in 16 years I would have laughed my ass off.

I give Snoop credit for growing and evolving.Unlike many other rappers,he at least tries something new, from time to time. That's why he's lasted this long. He's never boring.

Yeah. Hopefully someone will do an investigation and see excatly who is buying these downloads and so quickly! I know people buy Usher records, but I can't see that quick of a rise to number one for a song with no video and it seems not excellent radio play. Hmmm....

Not excellent radio play? How about 77 million impressions and an easy Top 15 placement on Hot 100 Airplay? http://www.mmr247.com/mmr...&NumDays=7

Usher is #23 at CHR/Pop, #10 at CHR/Rhythmic and #8 at CHR/Urban. His impressions nearly equal those of Mariah's Touch My Body, and he will soon surpass her.

I do not understand why people don't believe Usher could sell 197k in downloads when airplay is so strong. Airplay is the #1 stimulant for download sales these days.

A video is a great promotional tool, but videos don't sell downloads. Airplay and promo do.

But "Umbrella" is possibly the best mainstream pop song of the decade thus far.

My vote would go to "Crazy in Love" or "Toxic"; especially as I don't like Beyonce or Britney, but I still think the songs are amazing...

"Umbrella" is good, though.

I don't know much about radio numbers. I suppose I rarely listen to the R&B stations (and the one I do listen to on Sirius is more Urban AC as opposed to Hot Jamz, for the kids). I assume it would be like number one or close to it on the radio.

The main reason, its Usher, hes in a genre, teen rb/pop that i question the fact that people are "buying" single downloads. I cant trust any soundscan data and "faceless" downloads at .99cents a pop when Record labels own stock in soundscan and the radio stations themselves. Its no different from politics that we all question, why are Clinton and Obama the only people left? MONEY they had the most, they bought their time, case closed.
