I know I'm jumping in this super late, but I'm curious as to the other groups who were included in the battle. Who has been eliminated in each round, and was Tavares included? "Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!

Hang in there Stylistics! The Stylistics' first album alone should get them third place. "You Are Everything" "Stop, Look, Listen (To Your Heart)" "Betcha By Golly, Wow" "People Make the World Go Round" "You're a Big Girl Now" "Ebony Eyes" Amen 2 that. I love Round 2 also. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

In addition to the groups in this round, also participating were Bloodstone Enchantment The Moments Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes The Dells ... and yes, I know there are a lot of groups missing, but I had to draw the line at some point so this survivor wouldn't go on forever. Thus, I chose only ten groups to participate It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

Based on the number of quality singles in the 70s?
The Dramatics should get voted off. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

Why don't we ask the groups how they feel about blind dates?
Chi-Lites: Have you seen her? Dramatics: What you see is what you get. Stylistics: Stop, look, listen (to your heart) Spinners: If you can't be in love... O'Jays: So nice I tried it twice. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

No? OK, good! MINT CONDITION! Interesting you say mint condition but what do they have in common with these 70's groups considering they are a band that has different styles in their music including jazz and rock which i certainly don't here in the chi-lites, ojays, stylistics, dramatics, etc. Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

It's not about just a few good tunes I-man. Just a quick count of Top 10 R&B hits for each of the remaining groups during the 70s... The O'Jays - 16 The Spinners - 15 The Stylistics - 13 The Chi-Lites - 12 The Dramatics - 8 ...approximately. Even using that as somewhat of a yardstick, if I had to pick a winner based on tunes I liked personally during that time period it would be The Stylistics. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 [Edited 3/3/08 20:12pm] "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. Why do people never give credit to the most underrated, yet greatest vocal groups?
My absolute favorites: The Impressions (post-Curtis-Mayfield era) The Notations. The Natural Four. In my opinion, these three groups easily beat the other groups mentioned on this thread. [Edited 3/4/08 14:34pm]
