I remember some years back Snoop wanted to sample Gigolos Get Lonely Too, but it was said Prince did'nt approve it.It seems Snoop is a big fan of Prince from borrowing certain elements in his Sensual Seduction video and also recording Cool. It's ok , I just think they could of done without the breaks.

I think Teddy kinda messed the track up with those breaks. Once is aight but he did that sh*t way too many times for one song.

Yeah, right?

I thought it was a fake, because of the breaks being so overdone.

Also, it's pretty obvious the music was sampled... Teddy should've remade it completely.

Ego Trippin definitely fits the title of the album. Tracks like these are a fine example of a train wreck of overproduction. bored disbelief

Supposedly he made that up as to say he tired of what the record labels want him to do so he 'ego trippin' and doing what he wants.

I agree. Take the breaks away and this is a pretty decent cover.

It's missing that kick that Morris gave it, where is that synth, the girls are understated...I mean Morris had more command with it, more confidence, this has a karaoke kind of feel to it..i don't know it may grow on me when I listen to it on some decent speakers

I like it. It is what it is considering Snoop is the one "singing". It's way better than Tom Jones' "Kiss"!

I think it is cool that he is paying respect to Prince and the Time! The song will never truly compete with the original. It's ok but they need to lose the cheesy echo effect. Or is that some shitty DJ's attempt at mixing the song. These kids now a days are gonna think Snoop is a freaking genius.

Interesting perspective..... I see this as the ultimate insult 2 creativity. This whack ass version should have NEVER seen the light of day. Absolutely anyone who can talk could have done this. Out of a scale of 1-10 this is a 1.

Morris did sing it with great confidence and a feeling of being on cloud 9 as a big Pimp...Snoop sound like he was kinda drunk.

However I think it is a good tribute to the song

I think it's cool (no pun intended) that Snoop wanted to cover the song. But, I do wish that he did a little something different with it. It's like "What's the point?"

I agree. Something different, like when he did Slick Rick's & Doug E. Fresh's "La Di Da Di".

I've heard all the Teddy Riley tracks on "Ego Trippin'" (TR produced "Cool") and they're all shit. Teddy must have some photos of Snoop getting a reacharound from Barack Obama to be able to submit such weak tracks.
