Well this lady totally did it all on this album, which is why it was her best and one of the best records of last year. She Wrote,composed, and vocally arranged all the tracks herself.

Last year my 2 favorite pop/rb records were from 2 artists that did everything on their records. Amerie's "Beacuase I love it" and Hilary Duff's "Dignity". Amerie did do everything on her record, she wrote it all, she played keyboards on a couple of tracks, which i thought was cool since i didnt know she played, but the most impressive thing to me, was the fact that she Vocally arranged every track, which is unique, because almost no one in those genres does that, and you can hear it in the songs. The production is more raw, the vocals more raw, not slick, I really wish Mariah could do a record like this instead of "polishing" everything to death.

Mostly, plus "singles" dont really happen for the most part anymore, at least the actual "single", with remixes and b-sides that whole thing, so i think labels just dont really have that frame of mind anymore, so its a rarity to see someone get beyond 2 on an album now. But the feel of both of these records are 80's, Hil's more Dance/Pop and Amerie's is kind of old school RB but also has Pop in their too, 80's that is, and her vocals are very raw, i have a feeling what happens in her vocals, goes right to tape. I saw one review that said "Amerie is one of the few female singers (mainstream) that can use her voice as an instrument" i think that was a really good/high praise.

ANdre wrote the bassline for 'why you wanna treat me so bad'; prince built the track around that. He also worked on an early version of 'i feel for you' so he deserved co writing credits on those two songs.

Bobby z played drums on one track as well.
