John Mayer/Kanye/Ray Charles Ok, I heard Gold Digga by Kanye first..then I bought the John Mayer Trio's album I heard Mayer's version of Ray Charles I GOT A WOMAN and thought "oh this is quite funky, I must hear the original." Then I buy the "Ray Charles Live" CD from 1959 and I hear that version is much faster, swingier and less funky than Mayer's remake. I think that Gold Digga and the John Mayer Trio's TRY album came out the same year so who is copying who? Did Kanye rip John's bass line from his interpretation of I GOT A WOMAN to use in Gold Digga or did Mayer rip Gold Digga to use in his remake of I GOT A WOMAN? | |
