Dancin' in the Soul Train line.....

I don't know if this is the right forum, (maybe GD???) but someone just sent me this, and in all my years of watching Soul Train, I do not ever remember Don Cornelius dancing in the "line." I can't believe it. And he's good too! Although this was 1973, and I was very young. I wasn't allowed to watch Soul Train then. confused

I just love this. I just remember him on the podium, with the deep voice, lookin' all serious. Love the song too....music

Well, damn. After standing at that podium like a zombie all that time, I'm surprised he moved at all. cool I thought he had some good moves. I mean, of course not like the ST dancers, but even in 1973 he was saying he was old.

Ok, so he was 36 when he danced in '73. He didn't look that old. I just saw a clip of him from last year at some restaurant. Still wearing leather pants!

Soul Train premiered on WCIU-TV in Chicago on August 17, 1970 as a daily program. Its success attracted the attention of two Chicago-based companies -- the Johnson Products Company (manufacturers of the Afro Sheen line of hair-care products), and Sears, Roebuck and Co. -- who agreed to sponsor the program's expansion into syndication. Soul Train began airing in selected cities across the United States, on a weekly basis, on October 2, 1971. When it moved into syndication, the program's home base was also shifted to Los Angeles, where it remains to the present day. Syndication of the program was initially handled by Syndicast Services until 1985, when Tribune Entertainment took over those responsibilities.

biggrin this info seems correct
