KC's ASS Blew-Up over the years! Still love their sound - learned how to dance listening to "Get Down Tonight". I remember when that was the hottest song on the radio and at parties.

I love this song too,but oddly enough,I prefer the single version.I have the album that it is on,but the album version doesn't have any real lyrics. It's more like an instrumental jam with shouts and party voices, but no verses. The 45 version is more of a real song.

Do You Want To Go Party is such an underrated jam by KC and The Sunshine Band. I truly love that one out of all the others they'd made.
The instruments! The vocals! The overall feel is, yeah it's amazing for lack of a better word.

80% Jerome Smith (Guitar. Putting the funk in it)
10% Richard Finch (Co-Writer. Co-creator and Bass Player.) 7% Sunshine Band (Those brothas dancing with the horns. Act like you know.) 3% KC [Edited 2/14/08 10:17am] "The first time I saw the cover of Dirty Mind in the early 80s I thought, 'Is this some drag queen ripping on Freddie Prinze?'" - Some guy on The Gear Page

You got that right. They've got him on quite a few TK produced artists. Imagine building a funky track around him and Jimmy Nolen...STANK! tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

Thet were very dominant in the 70's. Surprised no one has mentioned the cut "Please Don't Go". That's my fave from them. A ballad of all things! SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Some of my favorite songs by them... "Sound Your Funky Horn" "That's The Way I Like It" "Keep It Comin Love" "Do You Wanna Go Party" "Wrap Your Arms Around Me" "Get Down Tonight" "I Like To Do It" "Boogie Shoes" "I'm Your Boogie Man" And some of mine too, I would also add 'The Queen of Clubs'. And I agree that Jerome Smith's funky guitar was a vital part of their sound. I'm surprised nobody's mentioned the later pop hit 'Give It Up', a glorious slice of early '80s summer pop. It's joy personified, so I don't care if it funks or not.

For all you KC lovers, ya gotsta pick up this one up for dance parties.
The remixes are just enough to make the segues sound bitchin' leaving the original vibe intact. This is the only one I play anymore.
