kathleen hanna. yup. 'reject all american' is a great album.

post-bikini kill, she also put out a 'solo' album called 'julie ruin' that's pretty fun.

Yep. She made a cameo in the film.

I know she gets all the chicks, she gets ALL the chicks. That androgyny. That masculine feminism.

feminist sweepstakes is great.

reject all american is pretty freakin great, too.

julie ruin is fun, but not essential. if you find yourself in the middle of a kathleen hanna obsession after enjoying le tigre and bikini kill, julie ruin will be a good fix for you. nod

it's a great song.

sometimes i wonder if they're ever gonna get back together to do a new album...the last one felt like such a burn-out, i almost hope they go their own way and just continue to collaborate with each other in different projects.

I haven't listened to the albums in a long time, but I think I liked This Island a little more than Feminist Sweepstakes. The first album though is clearly the best one.

from every interview i've read (not that i've read them all), JD is purposely non-specific about his/her gender. i assume JD was born female shrug

I love her/him already. I think she has a new fan. *____*.

Well, I'm assuming JD has feminist leanings since in her film cameo in Shortbus she played in a scene where the protagonist (a woman) enters a room filled with women talking about the joys of sexual climax. JD was among them and shared a fictional story about how electrifying it felt to reach female orgasm.

i could be a real nitpicker and say that in a movie like shortbus, a genderfuck biomale could possibly identify as a butch lesbian and claim to experience what they'd consider a female orgasm.

but i'm pretty sure that's not what they were going for in that scene, so yeah...i'm thinkin yer right. smile

speakin of JD, i just saw this on perez hilton:

The lezbosphere is in a tizzy…and so are we!!!

We're still shocked and thrilled that singer/songwriter Sia has come out as a lesbian.

Now, sources reveal exclusively to PerezHilton.com that she's already got a new girlfriend!

Sia is dating none other than Le Tigre's J.D. Samson, insiders tell us.

We're so jealous! J.D. is our crush!
