I am not sure if I am allowed to post this, but it has appeared on youtube. If it is not allowed, please delete this thread, but this is a great unreleased MJ song.

Yeah, you´re actually right. And judging just from this song, it should have happened.

Yeah, he was pissed rightfully, cause this songs should have been a great hit. Can you image the video that he could make for this song? That would have been killer. I hope he releases it even though it has leaked. Only fans heard it and I think the general public would love it too.

the video could have been amazing

also this song got played a bit a few months ago on a couple of the london based radio stations (possible radio1) as michael's new song and the presenters all seemed to give it really good reviews

Michael had nearly a whole album ready to go in 2003 but Sony opted to go with the Number Ones album instead. I don't know why. It sounded promising.

my understanding was that after Xscape was leaked it was michael who decided not to release the album cos he was pissed off and thought someone at sony had leaked it just to spite him confused

either way a new album in 2003 would have been one of his quickest releases after an album (invincible 01) instead we have been waiting 7years lol

Escape/Xscape was recorded in 2000/2001 for Invincible but was planned for a 2003 release possibly for either a new album or inclusion on Number Ones

I had heard about this one, but I'd never listened to it until now. It's fire! woot! I refuse to believe it's an Invincible outtake, because it's better than just about everything on that album.

its an ok song , better then the dancetracks on invinc ,a far strech from remember the time or in the closet. thats what im afraid of crappy dance tracks on his new album.

btw did you knew that mj wanted dr Dre to produce for invincible?

Xscape is easily his best work since '97, trumps anything on Invincible, and MJ would be absolutely crazy not to release this or feature it on his upcoming album.

This song is absolutely killer. The lyrics, the beat. On FIRE.

Same, but I still like it. Strangely I think that's one of the reasons why. The production vaguely reminds me of one of my favourite MJ tracks Speed Demon.

Absolutely killer song and it's a real shame it was leaked. Even more tragic is how it was leaked. It would have been an awesome single.

Why?? It's out, people know it, it's old hat... move on! I would be disappointed if it would show up on a new album... that song is at least 6 years old!

The thing of it is, is that it'd pretty much be a guaranteed smash hit. Better than anything MJ has released in a decade. It'd be smart and advantageous for him to release it as a single, and it's baffling that he either doesn't realize this or follow through with it. Just because a bunch of fans have heard it doesn't mean the rest of the world has.

And for those saying it sounds like his 90s work: You consider this bad?
Better than the overporduced "dance tracks" off Invincible, or whatever lame beats Akon and Ne-Yo and whoever else are going to churn out for him.

Don't get me wrong... I love the song and it sounded fresher than anything off Invincible... but it got leaked and that's a shame, but it's time has passed! It's now 5 years later and it's over! I don't want anything rehashed... I want new stuff!

I agree with this. I am not sure Xscape, even though it's an amazing song, would work as a single now.

I don't agree with any songs that are leaked going on a new album- that is just silly to me. New material is what MJ needs to release.
