it's funny how much this resembles downtown St. Catharines (where i am for school) the signs of course are newer, but the buildings are all the same, i like'em..

Really nice!

I am always amazed at how they manage to turn streets around. Build sets that looks like real streets even.....I hope Bee does well, she's really trying to make a name for herself as an actress!

it's all about location, they really didnt have to do much but place stuff in windows and hang fake vintage signs...that block is really a chinese food store, an art supply store, a barber shop, and an old apartment...alot of the buildings in newark are really really old

Slave2daGroove

Mos Def as Chuck Berry hmmm

Thanks for the pics and the heads-up. Hopefully they don't try to re-write history with this. I've been to Chess, there's something in the walls there, you can feel it.

Oh yeah, Stymie's from Chi town. The importance of Chess in the community was also something I hope they don't miss.

That's cool!
But I always wondered how long it would take to actually build a set that looks like that!

from what i can tell it only took a week to set up...but from what i remember as a stage hand it takes sometime to assemble the big pieces before you bring them to "set" and set em up
