Basically, lol. I got a version of that song from #1's where it's extended and concludes with Diana singing "So...let me be/set me free..." I like that, lol.

I dunno. I LOVE the Supermes' origial....but I also enjoy the tacky electro Kim Wilde version. Especially around the end, when the hard synth riff is repeated ova and ova again.

Aretha's vesrion ain't half bad either.

I haven't heard all those versions (and can't be bothered at the moment cause my internets is running so f'n slow!) but it will be hard to get past the fire that the funk brothers laid down on the Supremes version.

I would call the intro the greatest one note guitar riff ever!

There's a cool instrumental version on the "standing in the shadows of motown" soundtrack. Can't find it on youtube but you can get a preview here:

Those 2 are the only versions worth talking about.

The Supremes' version is THE Motown Classic.

Kim Wilde's version is great as a 80's pop-rock track. The synths & guitars work very together.
