Patti Austin!

I recently came a cross a cd of hers that is self titled and was released in 1984 (a great year for music) it has a song on it called "rhythm of the street" and i believe this was meant to be her more upbeat/dance album. anyone own this? is it good? looks like something i might like. any recommendations?

this is the album! http://www.amazon.com/Pat...259&sr=1-5

Oh God yes!!!

Buy everything you can get your hands on.

"Every home should have one" is probably her best album...

I have this CD.I like "Do You Love Me" and the title track.I also dig her remake of the Stylistics' "Stop,Look,Listen (To Your Heart)".Incidentally,Angela Bofill came out with a remake of that song,at the same time that Patti did. It's on her 'Something About You' album (a great album, btw).

Then get Patti Austin (1984) with production from Narada Michael Walden; and Gettin' Away With Murder (1985) with prodcution from Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis.

my favorite songs by her...

"Razzamatazz" (1981)
"Every Home Should Have One" (1981)
"Do You Love Me" (1981)
"Rhythm Of The Street" (1984)
"Gettin' Away With Murder" (1985)
"Gimme Gimme Gimme" (1985)
Narada Michael Walden and Patti Austin

She had some cool R&B/pop singles throughout the 80s,but I don't think that kind of music is her first love.I remember in 1990,she announced that she wasn't gonna do that type of music anymore."I disavowed "The Heat Of Heat" when I recorded it",she revealed.

lol

Yeah, I have all her album on vinyl. But I see some fool trying to sell the Gettin' Away With Murder cd for over 100 dollars.
I say- I'll throw on my record and be happy! lol
