Roberta Flack at BB King NYC Valentines Day: WTF??? Anyone else go to this show? I was at the 8pm show and it was....weird to say the least.
I had seen Roberta Flack several years ago at the Blue Note and she put on a great show. This time, I really wondered what was going on. She BARELY SANG any songs herself!!! The 1st song she came out and her guitar player sang. Then she kept telling the audience to sing, or other band members etc. She kept going back and forth from the baby grand piano to her center stage mic, but never really played much on the piano either. She DIDN't SING her hits..... she only did First Time Ever I Saw Your Face at the end, and then did Killing Me Softly as an encore but didn't even really sing it!!!! She seemed like she was on something, I'm sorry to say. I really thought at one pint she was gonna lose it on stage. The nice part, she brought out 2 kids who go to a charter school she founded and they performed. But what is up with her?

Maybe it's "being old-itis". Happens to the best of us...
Ain't she like 70 now? | |

Ain't she like 70 now? Yeah she;s 71. She LOOKED AMAZING... and when she bothered to actually sing, sounded great. But like I said, she would do anything but sing a song herself..... and was telling incoherent stories. It was shocking actually. I wonder what the 10:30 set was like

No doubt. I just wondered if anyone else saw it and had the same reaction
