Ne-Yo feat. Utada Hikaru - Do You Just heard this song for the first time this morning. I'm a Utada Hikaru fan, not a Ne-Yo fan at all, just wondering who had heard this, what they think about it, and whether it got much exposure in the US. Was it a single?
I'm interested because Utada's supposed to have her 3rd English album out later this year and I'm wondering if they're going to try to push her in the US again.

It's basically a duet as both have equal parts that go back and forth quite logically. I don't see how it'd work without two people. I don't much care for Ne-Yo, I must admit. I don't think with her track record and at this stage in her career my lovely Hikki needs to lower herself to work with some RnB newbie like Ne-Yo. She's sold a gazillion records but she's still trying to break the US. That has me scared for the new English album later this year as I just know it'll be full of Timbaland's beats and it's just not her.

I remember when I heard that Jam and Lewis were producing a track ('Addicted To You') for her. Listened to it and it was crap. Same with Timbaland on 'Wonderbout'.
She needs to put 'Sanctuary', the English version of 'Passion' on the new English album. Not excited about the new Japanese album supposedly out next month. Already heard 6 tracks that will likely be on there and I only kinda like one, 'Kiss & Cry', and that's pure fluffy cheese I'd probably dislike if it weren't for my unconditional love for Hikki.

I make Utada threads and no one gives a damm!
For your correction, she is finishing her second english languague. The first album doesn't count as an Utada release because she released it with the alias "Cubic U" Oh...the new japanese album "Heart Station" will be released March!!! [Edited 2/12/08 14:29pm]

It's funny though, we seem to have quite different taste when it comes to our favourites. I agree about the ULTRA Blue album though. I think it's her best as a whole. I love the remixes too, especially for Simple and Clean and YMMWTBAM. Oh, and Devil Inside. Simple and Clean and Sanctuary are AWESOME songs. I like Easy Breezy, Exodus '04, The Workout and Tippy Toe too. See, not the same as your favs. It's all good though. Just shows the quality and diversity of her stuff. For Japanese stuff, which I think I prefer, I love LOVE the music and video for Keep Tryin'. I have it on my myspace page. Passion, WINGS, This Is Love, Sakura Drops (AMAZING!), Nichiyo no Asa, Hikari, Kiss & Cry, COLORS, Flavor Of Life, Parody, Be My Last, Automatic and Another Chance. I wonder if these are quite different to your favourites of her Japanese tracks. p.s. Don't feel bad. This thread is far from successful. If I'd known you'd been starting Hikki threads I'd have been here at least! . [Edited 2/12/08 17:31pm]
