For some reason, it's always seemed like the twin to Annie Lennox' Diva.

Similar title, same year of release, similar production, every song's a knockout.

They have different styles, but they're equally impressive vocalists. And they really branched out and challenged themselves on those records.

That's one of my most recent favorite songs.

i can see that...it's funny, though - at the time 'ingenue' came out, i was really into julee cruise's albums and, a little later on, the marianne faithfull album produced by angelo badalamenti. when i heard 'ingenue', i thought it had that same dreamy quality, like she was transmitting the album from her own drifty otherdimensional world or something.

in other words, stoned

lol

Sorry I have to go with her cowpunk country stuff. While I like everything she has released, her cowpunk stuff just had a fun carefree excitement to them. After Shadowland she went a bit to mellow for me.

Still love her though, and enjoying her new release.

p.s. I still recommend finding Reintarnation her Sire compilation that came out bout 2 yrs ago.

good stuff.
