i just picked it up last night. i've only listened to it once so far, but i really like it. the songwriting is great, and i'm enjoying the melodies. i like what she's doing with her voice - there's a bit more restraint, but it's not completely static or boring sounding.

I'm totally in love with it.
Like Anx said, it's restrained but still powerful. As much as I love her output, the last several albums have been either covers, live or a series of duets with Tony Bennett. It's nice to see that after such a long career, she's challenging herself more than ever by writing all these songs, playing several instruments and producing the whole thing. So in a sense, this is the most potent version of her we've ever gotten. I like how the album doesn't sit still in one style. Everything she does well - country, torch ballads, jazzy pop, bossa nova - is all represented here. And it all hangs together so well. "Coming Home" makes me ridiculously happy. "Sunday" is maybe the dreamiest thing she's ever done. "Jealous Dog" makes me giggle and gives me the chills at the same time. And "I Dream Of Spring" is the perfect anthem for all of us who suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder.

Oh, I do too. And I especially love her last one "Hymns of the 49th Parallel". But it's nice to hear her doing something purely her own again.

It's gorgeous and perfect for driving in this HELL Winter we've been having. Calms my nerves and soothes the spirit. I love it. Music is the language of the spirit. It opens the secret of life bringing peace, abolishing strife. --Kahlil Gibran

k.d. lang is originally from my province in Canada. I remember in 1984 when the television station here would use her "Bopalena" cow-punk video as a time filler between programs.
I'm interested in hearing new material from her.
