IstenSzek said: zeitgeist - indeed just a wall of sound where nothing sticks out at all. perfectly said. Billy seemed to forget that people like some dynamics once in a while, a break from skull-crushing guitar. Zeitgeist is the worst cd I've bought in years.

Not a single song grabbed me. i thought that at first, but then on repeated listening it started to open up to me more..now i think its a truly fantastic piece of work - with pace is the trick being one of their best songs ever for me, so much passion in that song. Wouldn't you love to love me?

PFUnk and the acoustic version of "Love" that appeared on 3121.com were my favorite recordings by Prince last year. I can take or leave everything else he released in 2007.

I think I'm the only person here other than perhaps Raze and Moonsongs that actually loved Volta.

Yeah, and even after awhile, through most of the summer, I kind of thought I didn't like it anymore. But I hadn't listened to it, so when I did hear it again in the fall and through the winter, I remembered that I do love it. Inevitably, the new Prince wasn't very good. I always cling to this hope that his newest album will see a miraculous return to form; it never seems to happen. Planet Earth continued that trend.
Zeitgeist wasn't very good, either. Oh well, at least Radiohead fully delivered. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

Spirit - Leona Lewis.
Ugh. I thought since Bleeding Love had legs that she'd come out with some other cool tracks. It sounded like a Christian "hope" record.

I didn't buy a single album during the year of 2007,
so I'm afraid that I cannot participate in this thread. Which is too bad, because I absolutely adore bitchin' & complainin' 'bout shit that I didn't like after I've purchased it. But, y'all just carry on without me. I'll go an' hang over in one of the other forums or sumthin'. Or maybe I'll watch TV. I dunno..... I was gonna just sit quietly here, & enjoy my bag of Oreo Minis, but my girlfriend is making dinner tonight, & I don't wanna spoil my appetite.

The seal on my resealable bag of Oreo Minis isn't working. So, I hafta make a choice.... Either polish off what's left in the bag, thus compromising said appettite or I wake up tomorrow to small pile of non-fresh cookiettes. Fuck. I'm at a crossroads.

For the most part, nothing really. Because if i bought it than i knew going in that i liked the artist already, so there were no total "why did i buy this" moments, i almost never have those, but if i had to say a record this year that i was hoping to get more out of and didnt, it would be "Red Carpet Massacre" by Duran Duran, it just didnt hit me like their other records, it wasnt bad but it wasnt great, it just didnt feel like a Duran record at all, it was devoid of all instruments, had some very good tracks but it wasnt an overall strong album to me.
And if i had to add a song, it would be that PFUNK track by Prince, i know people trash Planet Earth, but please, that PFUNK track makes Jughead look like Sign o the times. The thread didn't specify that you had to have bought the albums you heard in 2007. It's just a general question asking what albums you anticpated to be really good wasn't so after you heard them. Feel free to complain about crappy music! grammar [Edited 2/18/08 11:14am]

We have a winner! This album was cute, but entirely anti-climatic! She really needs to step up her game and try something new, cause her music is getting stale and Planet Earth was pretty disappointing too, because I actually do still expect Prince to deliver If you will, so will I
