It's one of my favorites!! biggrin

I'm not a big fan of Carly Simon, but "Why" is KILLER!

Check out the video!

There is a cool instrumental by Nile and "Dream Girl" (Teddy Pendergrass) is great! Definitely a sleeper! Find it if you can!

I'm not a fan of this track either. I learned about it when I purchased their greatest hits.

It is available on the Soup For One Soundtrack.

I remember in the early 80s,feeling really bad for Chic. They were putting out GREAT albums and cool singles that were being ignored.Because of the so-called "disco backlash",radio stations weren't supporting them anymore rolleyes

It was a post-disco soundtrack for a splashy post-disco movie no one knew what to do with (or didn't want to touch). It got semi-healthy play in urban centers and black areas, but outside of that this soundtrack is largely forgotten. Around this time Nile Rodgers churning out some really great stuff like "You Are Beautiful" and "Rebels Are We." I'd recommend The Best of Chic, Vol. 2 over this soundtrack if you were wanting peak early-'80s Rodgers.

Most people of my generation (who follow dance music) would know the groove to this film's title track if they heard "Lady (Hear Me Tonight)" by Modjo which was an int'l dance hit in 2000.

That will probably NEVER happen.

Yep. They were even going into a rock vibe as well. Which I dug. But Nile struck more gold as a producer. He dominated the 80's as a producer.

I have Chic's 1981 album 'Take It Off' on vinyl. That album is EXCELLENT.

this song was sampled and made into a huge hit in Europe a few years ago...it was speeded up and new vocals put over it...and renamed 'lady'
