Freddie Jackson or Luther Vandross?

Obviously both are incredible vocalists, but who has the better voice and who makes better music? Years ago I would have said Luther, but i've been listening to Freddie a lot lately and I think he's just as good a singer as Luther was, if not better.

This has been discussed before.

I really believe that Luther was a better singer and songwriter. Freddie is a good singer, but goes a little too overboard (at times) for my taste. Besides, Luther's catalog of music is 100% better than Freddie's. Freddie's catalog (even his recent stuff) is just OK (at best). I'm not saying some of his songs weren't stellar, but most of them were mediocre songs.

Luther Vandross is going to win overall because he had the larger catalog (though his music from the '90s forward was crossover-heavy and watered-down). Freddie Jackson had four successful albums and actually had more No. 1 singles than Luther (10 to 7), but his star died out while Luther's endured.

I agree.Luther was a better singer, songwriter and producer.Plus,he simply has more great songs. There are only about two or three Freddie Jackson songs that I really like.
