Freddie Jackson or Luther Vandross? Obviously both are incredible vocalists, but who has the better voice and who makes better music? Years ago I would have said Luther, but i've been listening to Freddie a lot lately and I think he's just as good a singer as Luther was, if not better. This has been discussed before.
I really believe that Luther was a better singer and songwriter. Freddie is a good singer, but goes a little too overboard (at times) for my taste. Besides, Luther's catalog of music is 100% better than Freddie's. Freddie's catalog (even his recent stuff) is just OK (at best). I'm not saying some of his songs weren't stellar, but most of them were mediocre songs. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Luther Vandross is going to win overall because he had the larger catalog (though his music from the '90s forward was crossover-heavy and watered-down). Freddie Jackson had four successful albums and actually had more No. 1 singles than Luther (10 to 7), but his star died out while Luther's endured. | |

I agree.Luther was a better singer,songwriter and producer.Plus,he simply has more great songs.There are only about two or three Freddie Jackson songs that I really like. | |
