MY JAM FOR THE MOMENT: MC Hammer - Pumps in a Bump Man I'm jammin to Hammer's "Pumps in a Bump." I don't remember much about this track, but it sounds like something Teddy Riley and Co produced. I remember seeing on the MC Hammer biopic VH1 did years back, 2Pac was in the studio with Hammer when he recorded this track. Anyone know, were Hammer and 2Pac close? If they really did both work on this track, it might explain why it is so addicting.
I'm not sure if this track charted, but it is a shame that the media focused on Hammer changing his image. The fact is, this song is hot! Anyone remember this one? How big was this track? I woulda thought it was radio/MTV friendly. However, MC Hammer mighta already been out of style when this track was out. I love this track and also the 'Reprise' version which is titled 'Bump Teddy Bump' and is Teddy Riley talkboxing all over the instrumental, Roger style. It's phat.
To the OP - yes Tupac and Hammer were tight, in fact Tupac wrote the song "Unconditional Love" for Hammer. |
