"P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)" This record could have the best-produced chorus of all-time.
Did Michael write this?

Dunno, but I do like this song, it's very catchy! RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Just found this online on Wikipedia:
The song was originally written by Jackson and Greg Phillinganes and was a mid-tempo R&B jam. Quincy Jones wanted it to be more upbeat so he re-wrote it and it was Jones' version that appeared on the Thriller album. There's your answer. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

But, also according to Wikipedia, the writers were "(Ingram/Jones)". Would this be James Ingram?

I never knew James Ingram wrote the song. So now I'm confused as to who the real writers of "PYT" are. I seem to remember reading/hearing somewhere that Quincy Jones was, indeed, the one who wrote it. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

It's excellent (as is the album version, of course). "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

I use to love that song. Now I can't even stand to listen to it anymore.
Yeah, I know...that's supposedly my fucked up issue as I was told once before when I mentioned this but whatever. I'm not the one that's been accused of sleeping with P.Y.T's not once but twice!

James Ingram can craft a pop song. I'm not surprised he was involved with writing "P.Y.T"
Has anyone heard his track, "Better Way?" It appears on the Beverly Hills Cop II soundtrack. It is a great pop song. It kind of sounds like the song, "Higher Love." MJ Fan 1992-Forever

I had a chance to talk to James a couple of years ago. I said his "P.Y.T." money put his kids through college. The man has like 6 or 8 kids!!!

He's still collecting money off PYT since Kanye West sampled the song(and slowed it down) for his GOOD LIFE song....

Love both it and the demo...but I like the demo a bit more. Simply because it seems just more fresh. Seeing as I've heard the original 1,00000 times and probably only heard the demo 1,000 times. LOL MJ Fan 1992-Forever

I just heard the demo recently and I prefer the demo to the original too. I love the released version but there's a smoothness on the demo that I just love. Plus it doesn't really sound dated. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I love both versions. PYT is the only song with a chipmunk voice I could ever listen to.
Will.I.Am's re-vamp of the original is incredible! www.maximum-jackson.com

I always thought at the ending he was saying..
"You know I think it would be real nice, if uh, you and I could just get together..You're such a PYT. You and me" Maybe I'm wrong. MJ Fan 1992-Forever
