Herbie Hancock - "Future Shock" Herbie Hancock's win last night for best album at the Grammys got me thinking about the album that introduced me to him, Future Shock. I was ten at the time, and Rockit was the breakdancing song that year. We wore out a lot of cardboard to that tune. Here's his performance of that tune at the Grammys in 1984. I was in front of the TV Throw in some Autodrive, the other single from the album: I've since learned more about his career, but have only scratched the surface of his catalog. That he's managed to stay in the game and still be relevant after 45+ years is amazing to me. album artwork edit [Edited 2/11/08 6:13am]

I'll be the first but not the last to suggest "HeadHunters" and "Thrust" as your immediate next purchases.

Already have them. I was just thinking about this album, because of the Grammys and the previous Grammy performance that got me all giddy.
