Two of the biggest icons during the 80's can you guys imagine a dance competition between them and who do you think is the better dancer.

What? No Dance Competition: Janet Jackson vs Madonna vs Joss Stone?

I'm disappointed.

Both are choreographed to the teeth. But I think Janet Jackson would win in a choreographed competition -- the sort of dancing that she does in her music videos. The dancing in the RN 1918 music video still looks fresh to me. If it was based on uniqueness, Madonna would win. The moves she did during the Vogue segment of the Reinvention Tour were cool.

Both are different kinds of dancers, so I suppose it would depend on the people judging to determine the winner.

As stated above they're both choreographed. Between Madonna humping and grinding and Janet shaking her hips and twitching her knee/ankle (leg, MJ style) I'm not sure who would win.
Choreo. I think Janet would take it over Madge because she's perfected it to a "T", her whole performance depends on it whereas Madonna's dancers dance around her pose. IMO.

if you wanna do ballet, ball room, tap, modern, or something like that i'd say Madonna, since she is the the one that is classiscly trained and I've never seen Janet do any of the above style of dancing.

Madonna was great doing that Jitterbug dancing in A League Of Their Own.

Madonna is the better dancer, but she's very stiff like a ballerina, she's not natural/fluid, Janet is more natural. If you play some music in a club, and ask both of them to get out there and dance, Janet will LOOK better than Madonna, but that doesn't mean she's the better dancer
