Harlem - Bill Withers. Filmed in Harlem. She said she wanted to show a different side of Harlem than what is normally shown. Can't remember the name of the director but she also filmed a Natalie Merchant video that Madonna was fond of. Here's a "live" clip of the song. I love how she was working the long hair in this period.

I thought it looked like the Lenox Lounge but a little different, so I wasn't sure, but according to the entry in Wikipedia, it is indeed Lenox Lounge. Wikipedia said The black and white music video was directed by photographer Melodie McDaniel and was filmed on September 9, 1994 at the Lenox Lounge in Harlem, New York. [Edited 2/9/08 18:29pm]

After this, her music just sounded blah....to me and still does, I'm afraid. I love, "Secret", "I'd rather be your lover", and my favorite, "Love tried to welcome, me". Great CD.
I love the 'Bedtime Stories' CD too,but it always seems to get a mixed reaction from fans.I think, because she was working with prominent producers like Babyface and Dallas Austin (who were the two hottest R&B producers at the time),many fans see this album as a sellout....a blatant attempt to be "commercial" Some people analyze things too much. It's only pop music.
