its probably some weird momma rule.

My cousin couldn't get her hair cut until she was 16.

Keeps down on the vanity stuff.

I sorta get it.

I get it too, but I see those brows - my pet peeve of all pet peeves - & I just wanna reach out & "help" that child lol At some point she'll feel self conscious about it, & I guess it is better to have that happen later. This is how I know I'd be a bad mom b/c I wouldn't let her go out like that lol Which would start the complexes sooner & fuck her up, I know... but I'd so have my tweezers on that kid sad Just in the middle, man. I'd do the same thing if it was my son - brows just shouldn't meet on anyone ever...

I'm a bad potential mom hammer lol

lol

I couldn't wear make up until I was sixteen.

I remember putting on some colored lip gloss at 16 and my mother was like..."excuse you" lol

She looks E.X.A.C.T.L.Y. like her mother, with a tan. Even the eyebrows from the 80s she has too, lol.

Exactly. The moustache-bushy eyebrows look does not work. Time for some serious electrolysis.

Yeah, besides the fact that she wears an adult dress, poses like a model at that age, let's push standardised beauty-sense on her at a young age too.

hmm

I think she is beautiful.

It just makes me think about the grooming tips I never got from my mom that I seriously wish she'd given me! lol I remember being about 10 or 11 & thinking that only the FRONT of my hair had to look good. I literally never paid much attention to the back, I mean I combed it but didn't put much effort into b/c I didn't realize anyone would even look @ me from behind falloff & it took a friends aunt who we all thought was so gorgeous/stylish to point that out to me/us. & I was filled w/ panic, like "OH SHIT!! MY HAIR HAS LOOKED LIKE HELL FOR YEARS!!!" omfg falloff I dunno, it sucks either way but I definitely know the dread of living a faux paus for far too long & having no one tell me, could have saved me some embarrassment (even if it was felt later, it's still embarrassing)... smile
heart prince I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it prince heart

OK, OK... you make a good point. She is a gorgeous girl as is. I certainly can't argue with that.

Try to find Sunny Bergman's documentary about plastic surgery. In Dutch it is called Beperkt Houdbaar, whcih is a term used in Dutch to say Limited Timespan for food that you must eat before a certain date.
Use Before?

Anyways, it chronicles her search for women's self-image and how it is produced at a much earlier age; girls of 18 asking for a vulva-reshaping to fit Playboy beauty standards.

She questions women and girls and also a plastic surgeon. Sunny herself is an okay looking woman, not spectacular (to Playboy standards) but absolutely not ugly. She is Rubens-shaped, we say here in The Low Lands, meaning she's got curves; a shape I myself prefer to look at above these Kate Moss skeletons.

It is rather touching when she asks a plastci surgeon (a really ugly personality) what kinda work he would suggest her to have on her body and he starts a sales pitch; int he end NOTHING is right about her, and afterwards she films herself when she starts crying afterwards, a bit shocked about how ugly she seems to some.

And that is the point; girls at a young age are submitted to beauty standards that are just obtainable for the lucky few and puts most girls into a spiral of self-loathing, while we should celebrate diversity, in my eyes.

NSFW!

This has candid shot of plastic surgery on vulva and face. Just so you know.

It's a compilation of Over The Hill (that's the UK title), but it
s in Dutch with some parts in English (Dutch subtitled) , so you'l get a picture of what the entire doc is about.

I agree with your sentiment, Huey. I should've been less casual with how I joked around here... especially where a young girl is involved.

I'm gonna send the youtube link to my wife, who does mental health work around women's body image. She'll find this HORRID! Is this an American documentary?

I personally think she looks very age appropriate for a 12 year old girl. The model stance. shrug I don't find that an issue at all.

You might need to visit the juniors department at a store. That dress is very nice considering.

I think Madonna is doing well with Lourdes.

It is a Dutch documentary. The proper UK title is Over The Hill. Sunny Bergman, the director, interviews all the people herself while working the cam, making it a very personal doc.

If your wife is interested in maybe working with this doc proffesionally; http://www.viewpointdocs.com/
