Prince Phillip Mitchell Appreciation Thread

Give it up for Prince Phillip Mitchell y'all! cool
Incredibly talented songwriter, vocalist, guitarist & pianist, hailing from Louisville, Kentucky. Phillip worked at Muscle Shoals and wrote numerous hits for other artists, his biggest hit being Tim & Mel's 'Starting All Over Again' (R&B #5). He launched his solo career in 1978, with 'Make It Good' and followed it in 1979 with 'Top Of The Line'. Both albums 'bombed', so to speak (not because of their content though), and Phillip put his solo career on hold. He recorded two further solo albums, one in 1986 called 'Devastation' and one in 1991, titled 'Loner'.
Recently (2007), Phillip's 70's solo albums were remastered and issued on CD for the first time. Both albums are excellent soul albums, and anyone with interest in late 70's soul should go cop them both immediately

It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

I think his stuff is semi-rare on vinyl. Top Of The Line is probably the rarest one. Saw one on GEMM for 76$.
Well, you can always get the remastered CDs wink
cool
