Anyways, I am kind of excited about this era. For once, the media is focusing on his personal life and his music. For the last several years, it has primarily been about his personal life. Now there are newspaper and magazine articles about his music as well. Perhaps it was a good plan to release Thriller 25. Me too, yeah I reckon it was a awesome idea It has definitely sparked interest with the general public! God, MJ is pretty much taking over the charts!

I was listening to Michael's original WBSS after spending the past few days listening to WBSS 2008. I've came to 2 conclusions:
1)Michael kicks Akons ass on EVERY level as a vocalist 2)I really want to hear the demo or if it's a new performance, the acapella studio session for WBSS 2008. Michael's voice sounds so awesome on WBSS 2008. MJ Fan 1992-Forever

Bought this today... love it.
I love listening to the new versions... I've always loved to hear what other artist can do with anything Michael... and The Girl Is Mine, with the different vocal trax is awesome! Even hearing the new remastering of the original songs... man, there's things in there that I never knew existed. It's like hearing what Quincy always said he loves to give us... "Ear Candy". There's so much more "Ear Candy" on this... |

1)Michael kicks Akons ass on EVERY level as a vocalist HA! I definitely agree! Although Akon has an odd/irritating singing voice to me (I still don't understand why he is so popular), I think MJ does what U said to most other male R&B vocalists as well. LOL There are men out there with fantastic voices and ranges, but Michael's was/hopefully still is perfection in my opinion, especially on this album and Off The Wall. Oh, and I fourth that notion of someone uploading "Got The Hots." The clip on YouTube is the best synthesized music I've heard in a very long time, and I have been going crazy over the notes MJ is signing. LOL. I love Michael, and don't usually promote music sharing, but ordering from Japan is not an option for me right now. LOL. Much better than I expected. Only #5 in the UK? Usually anything Michael does goes straight to #1 in the UK. I don't know for sure yet, because the ARIA charts don't come out until Sunday, but it looks like T25 will probably be #1 in Australia. Every music store I've peeked in this week has him at either #1 or #2 on their charts. The #1 spot is between him an Jack Johnson for this week in Australia. Btw, WBSS08 was #8 on the Australian single chart for last week and #4 on the digital music chart. [Edited 2/13/08 4:05am]

They didn't. They added a few remixes as bonus tracks. The original album is still alive and doing well. I have Thriller 25 and looking through the booklet and at the track list, remixes appear very much as bonus tracks. The original songs all have full lyrics. None of the remixes do (even though some lyrics are different) and that includes For All Time. They are pushed to the side in the credits and there is only one page for the credits for all the bonus tracks. The focus of T25 is not the remixes. It's the original songs. The remixes are bonus tracks. Nothing more. So settle down. They in no way destroyed the album. I bet any teeny-bopper who buys T25 because they heard MJ was good back in the day and it was Kanye West and Fergie on it, will hear the original songs, hear the remixes of those songs, and go back to the original songs. And I think that was exactly the intention of putting those remixes on the album. So teeny boppers will see names they like, buy the album, and end up getting turned on to Michael Jackson and the evil of the Thriller.

I got the cd yesterday! I love it! At first I thought it would've been trash but after listening to it, the beats were on point and everything. I think the only thing that it could've done with out was Fergie singing Beat it but it was a good filler though. I'm surprised I even brought the cd but I'm glad I did. Um... let me warm up my vocals

When I first downloaded the leaked, bad quality version of Beat It 08 I hated it. But now I kinda really like it. It sounds like Beat It on a SNES or something. Video game style. I like it. I also don't mind that Fergie's on it. Mike's just giving the kids a chance. I actually recently changed my mind on the whole working with hot right now shit-hoppers. At first I thought it was just for sales, charts, publicity, whatever. But then I remembered what JB's last words to MJ were. That he has to help make music good again. Show the youngsters how it's done. So he gets the hottest of the hot right now into the studio together and give them the chance to work with him. First thing will.i.am does after working with MJ, puts his musical talents to good use and makes a song about change (Yes We Can) instead of writing songs about lady lumps. First song I've heard from Akon since he worked with MJ, Hold My Hand, I love. Sounds very Michaelish. The influence is definitely showing. But it's all good. Akon is starting to develop good songwriting, producing and singing skills. And he's not sining about wanting to fuck you. I think he knows what he's doing, he knows how much influence he has over the youngsters and he wants to leave the music industry as healthy and as good looking as it was when he first entered it. [Edited 2/13/08 6:42am] Your comments made me think of the line from "Rock With You" where Michael sang, "Love survives..." While I know the song was talking about a relationship-style love, I think it is true with EVERY kind of love. I really do miss Michael. I know that might sound stupid, but I miss seeing him on MTV with NEW VIDEOS. I miss knowing a new single is coming. I miss hearing new music on the radio. While like you, I wasn't THRILLED with the idea of Thriller 25, I'm thrilled with the final product. While I'm also thrilled Michael is inspiring the younger generation, I wish some of his own inspiration would rub off on HIMSELF. I miss the Michael Jackson who performs like on the Video Music Awards in 95. I don't care if he wants to lip sync. I don't care one bit. That is a petty detail. I miss the Michael who would do POWERFUL performances, and put his heart into every single step. In short, I wish THIS Michael would come back. In this world of Chris Browns and Justins....I really miss MJ and his whole presence. I wish he'd come back. MJ Fan 1992-Forever

He will. It'll just take time. The 2005 trial took its toll on him. Physically, emotionally and publicly.
He had a lot of weight to gain, he needed to get well again. Which it looks like he was achieved now on both accounts. He needs to get his head straight and start laughing and smiling again. Which it also looks like he has achieved by taking a long and well-deserved break. He needs to get his public image right again. He needs to set himself up so that when he releases the album people are ready to embrace it. That will be the hardest task and I see Thriller 25 as just a step to achieving this. In short, Michael has to get over 2005 before he get into 2008, or 2009, or 2010 or 2020 or whenever Michael feels ready, and when the public feels ready for a Michael Jackson "comeback".

It seems everytime I've seen him in the past few years, aside from that pimping red spider-man/marvel comics jacket, he wears black. Is that just his taste? Or a comment on how he feels? I hope it is the first! [Edited 2/13/08 9:00am] MJ Fan 1992-Forever

Trust me when I say its working! I have about, 10 of my friends already planning to buy it... I bought it to school cos my other MJ obsessed friend wanted to look at it but it ended up getting around and people came to see it. All the comments were along the lines of 'This is so fucking cool! I want one' 'MJ is still the best' blah blah you get the general idea.. Thriller 25 was a really good thing for MJ to do, he is slowly coming back into the spotlight.

JACK(S)O(N) STEPS OUT: Early reports show Sony Legacy's 25th anniversary re-release of Michael Jackson's deluxe Thriller package is overperforming, with a first-week sales prognosis of 80-90K range, which would be seemingly be enough for a Top 5 bow. Props to John Ingrassia and Commercial Music Group for a job well done (2/12p)

Thanks.I think this shows that MJ still has very good sales potential if his new album is hot. If you can sale between 80-90k on a album that's 25 years old and your not even releasing any videos or doing any live performances then i think he can still sale in the 350,000 to 400,000 1st week with a brand new album. The key is a blockbuster lead off single that's blockbuster hot on r&b and Hip Hop radio.
