I am very happy that the CD/DVD combo did very well. I was one of many people to purchase the CD when it first came out. This is proof that no matter what, people will still buy his music. This gives me hope that Mike's new project will have this many promotion and more and people will look past the tabloid created crap and focus on the music. It is sad that many people on here want to bring up nonsense from his past troubles and express some kind of shock that people generally don't ignore great music, but whatever. If anything, this is a slap in the face to his haters and doubters that would have loved to see this CD/DVD combo flop.

Dang, I see too many MJers from the boards of KOP, MJJC and the former MJNO.com That is pretty good.

The latest news in the world of Billboard's definitive sales and airplay charts.

Michael Jackson's "Thriller 25" is the highest-charting catalog album in the history of the comprehensive survey.

February 21, 2008,
Fred Bronson
KING OF POP (CATALOG): In its original run, Michael Jackson's "Thriller" was on The Billboard 200 for 122 weeks, 37 of which were spent at No. 1.

With the re-entry of a silver anniversary edition, the rechristened "Thriller 25" (Legacy/Epic) is in its 112th week on the Top Pop Catalog Albums chart and is No. 1 on that tally for the first time.

"Thriller" debuted on The Billboard 200 the week of Dec. 25, 1982. The album made its first appearance on the catalog chart the week of Nov. 14, 1992, entering at No. 42. It didn't reach the top 10 until the week of Feb. 27, 1993, when it leapt 26-2. It remained No. 2 the following week but never equaled or surpassed that ranking until this week.

The re-entry of "Thriller" puts the classic album back on the catalog chart for the first time since the week of May 12, 2007.

There aren't many 49-year-old performers who can say they have been on the Billboard charts for almost 40 years, but Michael can. As a member of the Jackson 5, he made his chart debut the week of Nov. 15, 1969, when "I Want You Back" bowed on The Billboard Hot 100. That gives Michael a career chart span of 38 years, three months and two weeks.

A final note: on the Top Comprehensive Albums chart, where catalog titles mix with current best-sellers, "Thriller 25" debuts at No. 2, runner-up to Jack Johnson's "Sleep Through the Static" (Brushfire), which is also No. 1 on The Billboard 200. "Thriller 25" is the highest-charting catalog album in the history of the comprehensive survey

Of course I loved the Thriller album but the new stuff:

I love the remix for "The girl is mine"

I love the remix for "PYT"

All those beats are off the chain!!!!!

I didn't like what they did to beat it -they could've trashed that one

"wanna be starting something" is ok but sounds like a theatrical preformance for the Lion King...they could've kept that one for a stage performance.

"billy jean" is ok but I just don't hear a difference except for the hard beating 808 but they should've just kept that one off too...

the unreleased one sounds very nice...
Um... let me warm up my vocals
Me ME ME ME ME...U U U U U!

Congratulations, Mike!
"When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

That's optimistic, I must say, and I do hope it's true. I personally don't think we will get it before June- just going by the release dates of his previous albums. He's never released an album before June. The end of the year is the best time to release albums- for the Christmas season rush. smile

That doesn't mean he has stopped hiding them. I am pretty sure it's illegal to take pictures in casinos, and judging by those low-res pics, they were probably taken by a regular joe and sold to tabloids.
