Why on earth did they EVER release this? Should have been kept in the vault, never to see the light of day. Mj actually sings of key. Terrible. eek

Obviously a demo... but I like it. It would have been a filler track had it made it onto the album so you can see why they left it off. MJ wanted all killer no filler. But I just love his voice from this time so much that I can enjoy an average song like this.

The Song isn't bad but pales next to the rest of Thriller25. The Nz version only has for all time (Which is actually quite good). The NZ version you get the Holographic cover (basic booklet and the DVD) all for $29.95 ($23.50US). a GOOD BUY i THink. The remixes are very good and I can safely say its the first time I have liked anything by Akon

I think that's why the song bothered me though it has potential. He should be singing 'girl' one semi tone higher

Got the Hots sounds like it was written as he was coming out of his "Off the Wall" phase. It could easily be a B-side to a song from that album.

That said, it's easily the weakest out of the otherwise amazing bunch of Thriller outtakes leaked so far (Nite Line, Hot Street, Carousel, etc). It's fairly obvious why it was left off the album. However, there is some killer potential buried in this otherwise dated and unpolished song. The lyrics are pure early-MJ, some of his delivery is amazing ("ROCK it, BaaaBAAAY". Sends me off the edge every time), and the chorus is perfect.

Worth it for the MJ completist, but one of his more underwhelming outtakes.

But hot DAMN if it isn't catchy. There's some hot stuff in here.

Wow, I am honestly surprised at the positive reaction. The song, IMO is terrible. I am a MASSIVE fan (have been for 20 years) and I never ever thought I'd hear a bad Michael Jackson song. Unfortunately i have today, and this is it. lol

I like "Got The Hots." I think it is very catchy. However, after hearing it a few times, it isn't anything REALLY special. I mean I believe if you take any song on Thriller, even the non singles like "Baby Be Mine," they are still catchy. This song is like a poor man's "Sunset Driver." I still like it, and think it is is groovy, but not Michael's finest out-take. (I would have much rather had "Trouble" remastered.)

Bottom line: I'm glad I have the MP3 but I don't think it is worth paying almost $50.00 just for this song as an extra.

I like it when songs like this are revealed.

Anything from MJ's vaults is 100x better than the remixes.

I totally agree. I think MJ included the remixes to try to capture the younger generation. Fergie, Kanye and Will are among the hottest in music now. I think it is a smart marketing move, but it really sux for us older fans.

Thriller 25 Number One in France with 60.000

MJ do the unthinkable again!

His re-release of Thriller, already the second all time top seller in France, captured the top spot for the second time since 1984. More impressively, it sold a staggering 60.000 copies in its first week, enough to be gold.

Thriller 25 also debuted at #2 in Germany, Switzerland, Norway, Australia with 13.000, #3 in New Zealand,Portugal, UK with 41.000, #5 in Ireland, #6 in Italy and Poland.

Thanx, but that's not the FULL VERSION. That's the released version. I've read that there is a 6 minute version of the song. I'll take that anyday over this extremely short version.

Wow! Congratulations SONY BMG Music and Michael Jackson!

And the difference between number one and two are less than 15,000 copies.

To be honest, I thought it would flop everywhere, but it seems do have done quite well in most major markets!

The question now is, where will Billboard list it? They probably won't list it in the main chart but in the Top Pop Catalog chart, since Thriller is actually older than 2 years! I've been wondering about that since some time!

BabyBeMine

Who cares about the singles. Sales is more important anyway. 156,000 sold 1st week on a Re-release after 25 years is awesome. Proof that if MJ releases a brand new album with a blockbuster lead single,he will sale between 350-400k easy 1st week just like 2001 Invincible. This puts him above guys like Chris Brown and pretty much equal in sales ability with Alicia Keys and Justin. And this is after all the negativity and he's 49 years old.

As far as I know, that's the completed track. It sounds complete to me. Where did you hear there was a 6 min version? eek

As for the Thriller "sales results" in the US, where is that coming from? Billboard charts have still not been updated.

Yeah, I think his perfectionist ways are great for the albums, but he should've been giving us some of these songs as b-sides all along. Remember, that was the time when the singles market was thriving! Chart-wise, some of those low peaks for the later Thriller singles would've probably been higher with bonus tracks.
