What is "Got The Hots"? Is it a sneak at the new album?

It's a Thriller out-take that's being released on the Japanese edition of Thriller 25.

hmmm sounds decent, but I can see why it was left off the album. It's just not as powerful as the songs that made it onto the album.

Cool- the Japanese editions of albums always seem to get a little extra something.

This sounds more like an outtake from Let Me Tickle Your Fancy than Thriller

Amazing

Yo bboy - where can we order our Japanese editions of T25?
I checked the Japanese Amazon site and it doesn't include "Got The Hots" on the tracklisting.

It is on Thriller 25, just the Japanese edition confused

I'm not sure if I'm gonna buy the JP version just yet, it's so damn expensive

I'm just going to download it. Fuck Michael. I only buy music as a show of support. I'm not supporting working with shit-hoppers and then releasing some dangerous-era out-take internationally but a real, funky, amazing thriller out-take exclusive to one country.

I'm with you on that one. Fuck paying 40$. That track will probably end up being an iTunes "Exclusive" when it is released next week. Either that or, you and I both know someone will post it on YouTube or leek the MP3.

It won't stay in Japan for too much longer.

I'm buying my copy at Circuit City - the expensive one with the book. LOL lol

I'm trying my hardest not to buy this because I don't want to support it. Michael and Sony could've done so much better. I want to show I don't support this. But I just know I'll see the shiny mofo on the shelf and wont be able to resist buying it.

You know. Michael and Sony really fucked up on this one. Listening to Got The Hots, I think that it would've been more successful if released as a single than TGIM08 or WBSS08. If instead of 5 shit-hop remixes they had 5 Thriller out-takes, those songs could have been way bigger hits than the remixes. I honestly think something like Got The Hots would be massive. Kids like shit-hop because they don't know any better. Release something better, like a Thriller era out-take and they'll flip the fuck out. Seriously. This is what Michael Jackson doesn't understand. Shit-hops sells well today because that's all the kids know. So you don't need to go down that road to sell. You can make good music, like Thriller-esque music and kids will go "hey, this is awesome" and eat it up. Don't play it safe Michael. You didn't with OTW and Thriller. So why now? Just give the kids a taste of good music and buy buy shit-hop. They wont want to know about it if you offer them something better.

I can understand what you are saying, Im just like you, I prefer outtakes like Got the hots over any remixes, and I think they should be replaced by unreleased songs But the reason why Mj didn't put it is clear, he wanted to target younger generation who are more into hip-hop , also IM sure Mj didn't feel its strong enough to put it on the album, , he added for all time because the song simply has a great melody and is much stronger than got the hots, its more melodic..I will fully judge when I hear the full version of the song.

I remember reading that he wanted Hotstreet to be on the album but Quincy and rod thought that the song is not strong enough...the sames goes to a song called rollin the dice

Yes, but I think the younger generation will love some of the Thriller out-takes if they were released as singles. They long for music like that. Think of it this way, if instead of release "Free as a Bird", if the Beatles released one of their classics remixed by someone who was popular at the time, would it have been as big of a hit? No way. Unreleased Thriller songs will make more successful singles than Thriller remixes IMO.

It already has, but it's on an invite only forum mad

The best route he could've done is :

Release one version with the remixes(in fact, remove Fergie, Kanye, and Akon's mixes with other mixes) for the mainstream

And then release a "Collector's Edition" for the fans with unreleased songs, demos, and alternate versions

True, but I honestly think they're going the most mainstream route with these remixes. Problem is, only 2 of them are worth listening to. Hopefully, some of those selfish fans out there will leak some more outtakes like they did with Hot Street, Niteline, Serious Effect, and others

It'll be like Mike doing the "Unplugged" album, unfortunately, neither will happen. neutral
