I'm with you. This industry is a fucking joke. I can only imagine what it will sound like. If I remember correct they did a Beatles melody that was disturbing a few years ago with some decent artists that just did not sound well. But hey we will get the Thriller remixes performed with performers who are a joke. I am so fng embarrassed as a music fan. However the one bright spot will be the foo fighters with some grammy moment winners. One who I love is Ann Marie Calhoun who plays in Steve Vai's Band on violin. She is not only a knock out gorgous women she can play the most complex shit on the planet and groove. Also the sax player for Zappa PLays Zappa is also a finalist Schiela Gonzalez another amazing talent. People who want to see musicians who play live with skill look no further than my above mentioned talent. If not please enjoy the great choreography of the lip sync artists who lately we worship on these boards. I can only anticipate what new life Akon will breathe into MJ's pinnacle album Music is the best...

It was ok, despite words being messed up a few times, at least 3 of the 4 are veteran musicians. But i have this odd feeling that this years Beatle Tribute is gonna be bands like Fall Out Boy or Arcade Fire, and im not really looking forward to something like that. I will check out this show just to see how bad some of these tributes and duets go and how awkward they will sound and look. And the MJ thing is just amazing, i mean, AKON? this guy shouldnt even be allowed to listen to Thriller let alone pay tribute to it. I'll say this: At least he's doing something I'm still against the content of Thriller 25 but hey, if he's trying to get positive media before a real new release, good for him And by the way, I heard a very short snippet of Got The Hots..... 5 seconds.....beats the remixes to a pulp!!!! I gotta get that Japanese edition! "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

Tuesday, February 5th 2008, 4:00 AM Michael Jackson will appear on the 50th anniversary Grammy Awards show, we hear, but he has vowed not to perform. The Gloved One appears to have won a stare-down with the Grammy-givers at the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. For weeks, show producer Ken Ehrlich has been mulling the idea of marking the 25th anniversary of Jackson's "Thriller" album with a revue that would feature guest stars from his rereleased blockbuster, which drops two days after the Feb. 10 broadcast. The medley number would include Will.i.am (on "The Girl Is Mine"), Fergie (on "Beat It"), and possibly Kanye West (on "Billie Jean") and Akon (on "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'"). Ehrlich said he'd do the tribute only if Jackson sang and danced, say insiders. "Michael can't go along with that," says a source. "He needs more time to rehearse new versions of the songs. And everything requires new choreography." Now, we hear, Ehrlich has agreed to having Jackson just appear onstage - apparently believing viewers will tune in just to see what Jackson looks like now. Grammy reps and Jackson spokeswoman Lois Najarian didn't get back to us. But word is Jackson is saving his moves for a show where he'll make some money - a "Thriller" TV special and a series of concerts. NY Daily News MJ Fan 1992-Forever

I am looking forward to see Mike. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

The latest on this from a source on a MJ Forum is that MJ is not even attending the Grammys but is just sending a video instead.
So, we can all look forward to yet another video of him sitting in some hotel room in his shades trotting out the same tired old "I love you all, there are more exciting things to come (probably a 30th Anniversary edition of Off The Wall remixed by Jay Z)" routine. Great.

The Grammys and the tie in with Thriller 25 were a golden opportunity to perform and let people know that he's coming back. It's becoming clear that he must have stage fright or something. I have a feeling he will attend, but not perform. If he doesn't attend, that is just a shame.
However, Michael was already paranoid long before the trial in 2005. But during his trial, there were tons of death threats, and this-that and the other. It was reported some of his outfits were bulletproof. I'm not excusing him wanting to be more reclusive these days (He always kinda has been that way) but, if I was him, I might not be to thrilled about being seen in public. Just sayin...
