Lenny Kravitz new CD -Jesus dude, do somethin' new!.

a solid effort, usual themes, usual riffs, pleasant middle England acceptable black music, beatles strings AGAIN!, only + point for me is that the Guitar rox a little harder on a lot of trax. "5" is a much better CD as indeed are the first 3 he did.

There's been about 2 threads discussing it. I personally find it rather bland.

Beyond, "Love Love Love" - I think it is pretty bland. I'm still hoping he makes good on his word of doing a funk album next.

I haven't heard the new one yet, but after the last couple, I think he needed to get back to doing something good first, and then build on that with something new. But it's Lenny. I doubt he's got anything truly new or original in him.

Actually, this is a good LK album.

Groundbreaking? No. Good? Fun? Rocking? Meaningfull? Sure. Why not.

Kravitz has always been an enigma to me. He's a talented artist, no doubt.

I own 5 of his albums and like a lot of what he does. It's never groundbreaking, but he has, for the most part, been dependable.

But, he's rarely passion-inducing, and true "WOW" moments are rare.

I agree. If you are a fan of Lenny's work, you will love the new album. Definitely buy it. It has quite a few great songs. Is it groundbreaking? No, but it has great songs that rock. If you are not a fan of Lenny's work or if you have only liked his first 2 or 3 cd's then you will probably not be into this cd.

The album is great! "Good Morning", "Love Revolution," "Love, Love, Love," "I'll Be Waiting," and "This Moment Is All There Is" are standouts for me!

I recommend that you get the deluxe edition which brings a bonus dvd and if you buy it at Target like I did you also get access to download additional videos online.

What additional videos does it let you D/L?
I got mine at Best Buy and it gives you some code where you can D/L some live audio stuff.I'd rather have video material. confused

I think this is my favourite Lenny album.

Will You Marry Me is Lenny's funkiest song ever IMO. Man, the guitar is tight on that one!

And Bring It On, Love Love Love, Back In Vietnam all rock too.

Much better than "Lenny" and "Baptism" if you ask me...

If you buy it at Target you get a code that allows you to download online the following additional videos:

"Again"
"Calling All Angels"
"California"
"I Belong To You"
PLUS
a behind-the-scenes video of "It Is Time For A Love Revolution" which includes acoustic performances of "Sister" and "Let Love Rule."

I haven't actually gotten around to downloading yet, I will probably do it later on tonight.

"Baptism" is the worse album I own of his. But "5" is nothing but the truth. That has to be my favorite album that he has put out.

I've listened to a few tracks and found them to be okay, nowhere near the creativity that "5" had featured...then again when he did "5" his mother has just passed away...some artists best work come out when they suffer the most. sad but true.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Love Love Love, A Long & Sad Goodbye, Back In Vietnam, Bring It On and Will You Marry Me... these songs kick the ass of anything from 5.

A Long And Sad Goodbye is very much Purple Rain...like, listen to the guitar. The sound is all througout the song, especially starting at 4:30 til the end.

Is this sayin alot though??

i thought 5 was terribly mediocre...

I just think elements are missing with lennys music... i can't put my finger on it..

I used to buy his records..till i started figuring out I only probably only listen to them a day or so... play it back in a week and realize what a crap cd it is/was
