I love Tom Petty. I really do, but that Halftime Show was boring as hell.

i would go as far as saying it was the worse halftime show ever but it was certainly a boring one

The problem is that, despite what they said, Tom Petty is not one of the biggest names in the history of rock. No disrespect to Tom, but you don't go from Paul McCartney, the Rolling Stones, and Prince to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

FWIW, even though I know it was from his solo album, I really wish he had done "You Don't Know How It Feels." Of course, it would've had to be edited...

Tom Petty has never been a flashy showman...his songwriting has always been his strong suit...I thought the show was decent....

to most non Prince fans I know, last years halftime show wasn't anything special...just Prince playing music...tonite, just Tom Petty playing music...

I don't know if i'd say it was the worst ever, but it wasn't anything to write home about. After the whole JT/Janet fiasco, they have been playing it safe and only booking boring performers (Prince being the exception of course).

Gotta agree. The game is ho hum and so was Tom Petty. He may have a solid fan base but he's not on a par with McCartney, Stones, Janet, Prince.

soooo true... i hated it soo bad

I said I wouldn't watch,but curiosity got the best of me,and I did.The halftime show went from the top of the heap last year 2 the bottom of the barrel this year.

Tom Petty isn't showy but he has some great music. I missed it, but I'm sure he did his thing.

All I could think was "God, he looks so old." I mean, he was always ugly, but damn. He looks old now too. The music was good, but it was pretty boring as half-time shows go.

TOm Petty is coo though, i do like his songs..but it was just average at best..nothing to really talk about. Prince really messed the next person in anyway...it coupdnrt be beat.
