Def Leppard - Pyromania or Hysteria?

I'm comin' with the tough decisions on Super Duper Monster Truck Tuesday.

Both classics. Both loud. Both swaddled in tight ugly jeans. I think the production is as much as star as the performers on both. Which do you prefer?

I go for Hysteria basically because the title track is the best thing they've ever written. They're both great albums though. Looking forward to the new one!

I just can't listen to Def Leppard. disbelief

My older sister played that shit out in high school and back then, it REALLY wasn't my thing. I used to make fun of her for listening to it. lol

Plus, it reminds me of all the, what we used to call, "burnouts" with big metal hair, acid washed jeans, and cigarettes that would blast it from their car stereos in the back parking lot of Roosevelt H.S. in Mpls. lol

So, neither. That's my answer.

But you didn't pick one! hmph!

I like both albums. Hysteria is a really good album, but a lot of it sounds the same to me. Rocket and Women are pretty much the same song.

I picked neither. hmph!

But if you put a gun to my head, I guess I'd have to go with neither. hmmm

Your response to my request (thank you) prompted this, but I know and like both of these. biggrin I think it's some of Dog's best production.

I prefer Women to Rocket but yeah they're pretty similar. I think Women rocks a little more though. The problem with Def Leppard these days is that they try too hard to stay relevant and their music just ends up calculated. X was so obviously an attempt to have a top 40 hit and it ended up selling less than their others.

Both classics. Both loud. Both swaddled in tight ugly jeans. I think the production is as much as star as the performers on both. Which do you prefer?

Pyromania, but why isn't High & Dry a choice?

That was their best work.

Wonderwall

Hysteria was the soundtrack to my senior year in high school. The thing was on everywhere I went. Love Bites, Animal, Rocket, Don't Shoot Shot Gun, Pour Some Sugar...every track is killer. I played this ALMOST as much as Sign o the Times back in 87/88.

However, Rock of Ages & Foolin are my all time fave Def Leppard tunes so Pyromania ranks up there too.

Have to go with Hysteria for sentimental reasons tho.
