Graham Central Station I want to get into some GCS, what do you guys recommend for a newbie. Come on Funkenstein, I know you got something for me. Which album should I buy first, or are there any compilations that sum it all up and do them justice??? [Edited 2/2/08 16:03pm] Lady Cab Driver is one of the greatest songs ever!

As your first GCS album, I recommend Aint No Bout-A-Doubt It (monster album, includes 'The Jam') Then get, Release Yourself, Graham Central Station, Mirror & My Radio Sure Sounds Good To Me After you got all those essential albums, you might want to consider getting Now Do You Wanta Dance,Star Walk and GCS 2000. NOTE: Some people might disagree with me on Now Do You Wanta Dance. It has a couple of killer tracks but overall it's pretty weak, imo. 'Ain't No Bout A Doubt It', 'Release Yourself' and the first self-titled 'GCS' album are Funk classic essentials.
Also there is a very NICE, remastered Anthology.

I recently bought all these albums and was pretty much gobsmacked by how good they were. Release Yourself and My Radio are my favs. The others are good, but not as consistent as these ones IMO. Toejam @ Peach & Black Podcast: http://peachandblack.podbean.com

I´ve just got the Graham Central Station album and it´s quite good.
My favourites from this album are: Don´t let them change you Groove on Love 4 1another "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

'GCS2000' is mediocre at best, 'Graham Central Station' is the bomb It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

StarMon said: FuNkeNsteiN said: Whut's up playa'. As you may (or may not ) know, I'm currently serving as a civil service man (it's either this or the army, yup, compulsory shit ). It lasts for 12 months, and includes one month of 'training' at Lapinjärvi (which is about 90 kilometers from where I live). I just got back home on Friday and I start work today, which is the second part of the civil service program. Basically, I work for free (well, I do get some money, but very very little) for 11 months... Well, at least the place I'm gonna work at is interesting, Sibelius Akatemia, a music University AND my walk to work takes like two minutes It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.
