Preach Richard...

There are few things more entertaining than Richard in full effect, as it were.

He 'taught everybody everything they know/ knew, don't cha know', and he ain't gonna let a little Christian thing like humility get in the way of a good story. biggrin

He comes across like the stoned lovechild of a hellfire preacher and Liberace, and more entertaining than both.

That was the normal one lol take heed to the British one(the drugged one wacky) - Uncle Neal knows her name I bet,,,,,since he loathes her lol

Different times, indeed.

This the film I'm talking about.

I would say its the finest documentary film about a public figure,,,I would rank it right up there with Malcolm X' docu-film that came out in the same year(1973 I think).

He's always wanted to be this big star. But you know I never got a chance to see him after he made it!? They would never let me come back. I would say, 'Whyyyy? What did I dooooo?' I had somethin' to tell him.

Going on your description ( falloff )...

...I'm guessing it's Finess's girlfriend giggle , Pat (why won't she STFU!) Hartley.

The more flattering b/w photo is from the WarholStars collection.

Some say there was beef between Rich and Jimi.

Some issue with money and Rich giving Jimi the boot

I wouldn't be supriced.

Lil' Rich was a BEAST on his band. Fining them on every false breath,,,he was a bigger tyrant than JB ever was,,,and like JB too, he never took kindly to those who try to outshine him on stage.

Uncle Neal - You're WORSE than those Yoko Ono hating Beatles-cult lol Whats her problem, though? hmmm

Mr. Penniman didn't want anybody in his band that was "prettier" or attracting more spotlight than him.
Therefore, Jimi was on a short leash.

And Pat Hartley?...disbelief
Try and sit through her ramblings on the Rainbow Bridge flick. headache

Miles

My main memory of this film - other than some of the awesome live Hendrix footage and the preachings of the Reverend Penniman, anyway -

Fayne Pridgin. Listening to her talk in that film is like your mad, stoned sister telling you what she gone done for forever and a day bored. She's cute how she talks about Jimi, and she clearly loved him in a way, but maybe a little less Fayne and little more Jimi on stage might have helped imo ...
