Desafinado
Cowboys and Angels

Been listening to them a lot lately. Beautiful.

Cowboys and Angels is so pretty. I think that he truely is a gifted writter and singer. I also heart his version of Bagdad Cafe.

I don´t know the other songs. I just have Ladies and Gentleman album and the first disc is really great. The second as well, but hid balads seem deeper to me. He´s also got such a beautiful voice.

Coming from the 80's i would say that George Michael and Annie Lennox are the two most "soulful" singers from that era.

Me too. It took me awhile to listen to it all the way through because it made me so sad.

i always dug Waiting from Listen Without Prejudice Vol One and Soul Deep from the same album. Sometimes tho his ballads grate on me. they are just so lushy sometimes.
I wish he'd make an uptempo record for a change.

The thread went too long before these two were mentioned.

Freedom 90' is a masterpiece, because about 4 years ago, I was going through a lot of weird stuff in my personal life, having just ended my longest relationship to date, and was kinda dating around trying to figure out my own place in my own life, I found this song and it touched me. It said all the things I couldn't express.

absolutely love this song. I was gonna list it but thought I'd keep it at 3. I guess for uptempo I'll add Fastlove and Flawless. Maybe Precious Box? I never get tired of hearing those songs.

"Praying For Time" is so calming. One of my most treasured memories of last year, was laying on my sofa, resting, with my puppy, as that song was on repeat.

I'm sorry but any list of George's masterpieces that doesn't include 'You Have Been Loved' is incomplete.

I might even add 'Too Funky' and 'A Moment With You'.

"I'm Your Man" is fantastic, especially the album mix, that sounds like it should have been a 12" mix. Love it. All the noises. That is THE JAM! biggrin

If you mean the version on Music From the Edge of Heaven, it is a longer version of the extended mix. ...Edge of Heaven was a compilation album of sorts, and they just stuck the longer version of it on there instead of the single cut.

Wow. I'd love to hear the the "extended" mix. I bet it is even cooler. Thanks for the 411 on the track. I always wondered, why, for an album mix, it would so long.
