Its like when London/Universal released the Bananarama record "drama" here in the states, we said WHY? though they did play a show here in nyc, it really made no sense to put it out, the label didnt promote it,or release a track or video, and all of that promo was saved for the uk. That's why Dannii had to find a new label and signed with Around the World killing all the momentum after Neon Nights. another album that should ahve done better in the states. It was strange to see the Bananarama record released here since everything recently had only had UK releases. It didnt really get any kind of push outside of a one-off show in NYC which they basically paid for themselves. It reminded me of when a-Ha played a one-off show here in NYC back in late 2005 for their "analogue" album and the album was never released in the states, and they are on universal also at the moment but have no US distribution. But that show too was an out of pocket thing for the artist themselves, and im sure despite the show selling out they lost money on it, since they had to pay $$ for travel and equipment, they also had a german documentary crew with them filming the line that was wrapped around the venue.
