Regina Belle or Miki Howard The females dominated in the late 80's and early 90's. Regina Belle did a duet with Peabo Bryson called A Whole New World. Miki Howard had a hit called Love Under New Management.

I'm not even going to ask why Regina King's picture is on here .....BUT I also have no business here since I couldn't decide between these two! I do own more music by Regina Belle, but I like them both. Never trust anything spoken in the presence of an erection.

I love Regina's tone and Miki's phrasing.
Can I split the difference and vote for Lalah Hathaway instead?

They`re both wonderful, but i think Regina Belle has a certain quality about her voice.

Miki Howard is way more personal and she got spunk too,,,and beside, her voice has more edge than Regina. Anybody who could fuck with a standard and hold his/her own ground is good in my book. Another personal reason(to me) is her deep attachment to Billie Holiday's legacy,,,,,I gotta love her for it. Regina is cool,,,but I couldn't picture her outside the RnB/Smooth jazz area. @ the lame attempt to put a Regina King pic in this thread.

Wrong Regina. No the right regina. I will hump her into the middle of next week. On the topic at hand, it's a no brainer miki howard. I never cared for regina belle. Don't laugh at my funk

I only recently heard of Miki Howard, I never knew who sang 'Love Under New Management' until now, so I must unfairly sat Regina. Because my Aunt used to play the hell out of her all the time. But I will try and find some of Miki's stuff and give it a listen. That Billie Holiday cover CD sounds worth checking in to. Lady Cab Driver is one of the greatest songs ever!
