Michael Jackson will defo perform at the grammies. Will.i.am is lined up to perform TGIM08. How the fuck is he going to do that with Michael? They are trying there best to keep a secret but it's becoming a bit too obvious now that Michael is the main attraction of this year's grammy awards.

Well WTF else would he perform? Sony BMG said him, Fergie and Akon are doing a Thriller 24 tribute at the Grammies. So he's really only got two options. TGIM or PYT. Since TGIM is a single, I would say that's most likely. But either way they both feature MJ's vocals heavily and not a lot of will.i.am. So he's going to look pretty stupid bobbing round the stage going "that way I rock" for 4 minutes.

Well, me too! But I refuse to get excited! I'm pretty much sure that Michael again will not perform on an award show! And if he does it will most likely again be some unplanned, unrehearsed and spontanious cameo like at the WMA and he will receive bad press for that!

Mj seems 2 be trying 2 hard these days.

He's being very cautious. In light of everything that's happened with him over the years, he's probably trying to take the path of least resistance back to the spotlight. A good strong (NEW, not rehashed) single would work much better than all of the fancy side-stepping he's doing.

You're absolutely right. It's sad, though, that he wants to spend so much time re-living past glories. Why is so hard for him to come out with an excellent, mindblowing NEW single?

Don't be ridunk. Any other artist would be well within their rights to commemorate the anniversary of their most successful album. But because it's MJ he's "re-living former glory". If he didn't do anything to commemorate Thriller 25 people would still be bitching. So he pretty much can't win with a lot of people.

rolleyes Nothing wrong with releasing a 25th anniversary reissue of a classic album. But come on...are the remixes,TV spots and all this promotion really necessary? It's gonna make people think he's desperate and living in the past.Besides, everyone on the planet already owns a copy of 'Thriller'.

Well it's Sony BMG who've really been pushing it. I think MJ was interested in doing the remixes, but the TV spots and huge promotional campaign is all driven by Sony BMG. They've been on MJ's case about promoting the album. But it's not like MJ hasn't been doing anything in terms of new material. With a rumoured release date of August 2008, it seems MJ has actually been working on pretty thoroughly for the last year and a half. It'll be about two years come August since he started on the album. That's a decent effort for the perfection that MJ is.

All indications say yes. The source that all fans are getting the August 08 date from has Sony BMG as his label.

No, the "racist devil" left Sony Music in 2003 pretty much because of the fight he had with Michael.

It's pretty funny that the fight been Michael and Mottola started in 1999 because Michael announced his retirement. But now it's almost a decade a later and he's still with Sony BMG, he's still got plans to release music, and people are still speculating about if he's going to show up to this or that awards show.

i hate to say it but it is almost like he is scared of what the audience reaction will be at the wmas he looked shocked at the amount of people chanting and cheering for him i think he needs something to make him realise people want to see him on stage sure he says that we havent seen the last of michael jackson etc but i wonder if he really believes it anymore neutral

Right. I really don't know what to think but it's like he gives people an excuse to either feel sorry for him or criticize him when he does something because he doesn't really wanna do it. I mean, I understand the trial took a lot out of him but he tired to be optimistic that he'll overcome it and actually do something like perform but everything we've been hearing is rumor after rumor after rumor. It's like you can take the name 'pop' away and put 'rumors' in front of it. Because that's all it is now, the king of "rumors". I would hope if he is performing, that it's for the NEW ALBUM.

MJ will never ever perform until he drops a new album , thats how he works, all the so-called pefromances at the WMA 2006 or other award shows are created by the media and some of his fanatical fans , MJ never said that he is gonna perform then for some reason he cnaceled it because that he is scared from the audience . lol ..

The claim that Mj was scared and shocked at the WMA2006 is a laughable joke, Mj wasn't even scared when he was a child on stage how he can be when he is a grown man , It doesn't make any sense.

MJ never intened to perfrom in any award shows in the past three years , all of them created by the media and fans, I think he will perform when he has a new album out and when he's ready biggrin

obviously michael wasnt ment to perform, that was a well known fact and very few fans believed he was apart from those who believed the media lol

also sure michael wasnt scared when he was a kid on stage but the wmas were the first time he had been on stage infront of an audience since the whole trial thing so you have to accept the fact he was likely to be unsure of the reactions of the crowd, okay so maybe scared and shocked were the wrong words maybe unsure and surprised would have been better smile

You have to put in mind that Thriller is the best selling album of all time ,its not strange that MJ is doing remixes and putting unreleased stuff so younger non-fans can discover the album....This is not going to hurt the classic value of thriller...

And believe me , that thriller 25th anniversary album is the raindrop before the thunderstorm. lol

There is still much more to come from MJ..thats what he said recently. biggrin
