Org house-heads: Help me out I haven't listened to much house or dance music in the last couple years, mostly because I'm not loving most of what I hear. And the DJ friends I do have don't seem to be into the same stuff I like.
There's one sound I really love (which probably has a name, but I'm too clueless to know it)...snakey bassline, not too speedy, minimal arrangements, and a good soulful melody on-top. Basically it's the sound that Boris Dlugosch does on "Keep Pushing" from '97. I'm sure there is other good stuff in this vein, but I don't really know where to start. Any good recommendations?

Listening to clips now, thanks! It's nice, but a little more spacey/ambient than what I'm looking for. I'm so bad at describing this stuff. I did just find a Boris D. podcast, seems like a good place to start.

If you're looking for good house, good luck.
Right now shit hop has creeped in and almost killed that and the new disco, bad "techno," is stomping on the music too. You're better off diggin up rare old stuff.
