just heard 4Minutes to Save the World and, its very pop and very typical Timbalandish. I can imagine hearing it in a club. Not a bad song but not amazing either. To me Hung Up was a much bettter first single without sounding like it was trying so hard If you will, so will I

"Hung Up" is a good song, but there are so many stronger songs on the COADF album ("Get Together","Jump",Sorry",etc).I like "4 Minutes" but I have a feeling that there are better songs on the album.Lately,I noticed that Madonna's first singles are usually not the best thing on the album,a trend that started with the 'American Life' album.

Did any of you pre-order the Japanese edition of 'Hard Candy'? I'm thinking of placing my order here....
EIL.com... http://eil.com/shop/morei...ri[/quote] In US currency,it's gonna be a whopping $59! I wonder if it's worth it,since there will only be one bonus track.Does anyone know if the packaging will be much different from the regular CD? Will there be some bonus photos or something? Any other extras?

Looks like Warners has removed the "4 Minutes" clips from Youtube again I don't see why they keep wasting their time doing this. The song goes to radio next week anyway! Let the fans have fun with it.

Any other extras? That's a lot of money! The page you linked says there's a bonus track and suggests it might have a little extra packaging (the obi, maybe dual-language lyrics). But I wouldn't expect anything really different or special. Unfortunately, CD's are simply really expensive in Japan! That's why they often have a bonus track...otherwise, you can buy an imported US copy of the same album for several dollars less. Wow, seems to me that website is making a killing! I'd expect the album to cost about $24-25...I haven't bought a CD here in awhile, but that's what COADF and 3121 cost. http://wmg.jp/artist/madonna/ [Edited 3/11/08 6:28am] [Edited 3/12/08 3:26am] "I would say that Prince's top thirty percent is great. This picture is disturbing on SO Many levels. It's clear that Madge has gone overboard with the PS, since she now resembles a wax figure. And, it seems, she is only a few years away from having Iggy Pop's body. Iggy, meanwhile, seems to be catching a whiff as Justin and Madge try to contain their laughter (not like you could tell from Madge's face as it's so frozen, though). To top it all off, everyone's outfit is fug. I still cannot be bothered with this project. WTF is she thinking putting that utter shit Candy Store/Shop and Beat Goes On on there? Stupid. Hate 4 Minutes, too. Justin fucking Timberlake ruins everything. [Edited 3/11/08 7:49am]

[Edited 3/11/08 7:49am] if she doesn't have surgery she's old and haggard looking, even though she looks much better than the average American 50yo mother of 3. if she does have some work done, not much because if you do the larger pics close up you can still see some small lines around the eye and different places she's going over board. a small face lift some botox and than pulling of the scalp i would assume all she has done. You CANNOT use the name of God, or religion, to justify acts of violence, to hurt, to hate, to discriminate- Madonna

so when will the "4 Minutes" maxi single be released? I heard one of the remixes and it is GREAT.....it's "less busy" than the regular version. This version would work very well in the clubs.Up until a few days ago,it was posted on YouTube but Warners removed it.

There's a new, lengthy Madonna interview with The Independent, here are some highlights....
***ON WORKING WITH PHARRELL---I think Pharell is a natural musician.I like his inventiveness-he would grab my acoustic guitar, which he couldn't play, but start playing percussion on it.He would find bottles and start playing them with spoons. He is very inventive in the studio,he's not precious and I like his lo-fi approach to making music. He is also a little kid and silly...he would come to work, take these Mickey Mouse slippers out of his giant Hermes bag and put them on...(laughing).I don't feel like he took himself too seriously. ***ON WORKING WITH TIMBALAND---He would seem like he was disappearing from the room, then he would take his headphones off and suddenly blast something on the speakers and give the thumbs up.So he was sort of a silent godfather to the whole project. ***ON WORKING WITH JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE---I can totally relate to Justin as a songwriter. We would sit down together and say OK,let's come up with a concept. What story do we want to tell? We would riff off each other and play with words. He likes to play with words and the rhythm of words and so do I. ***DESCRIBING THE MOOD OF THE NEW ALBUM---I felt more introspective because I was writing with Pharrell and Justin. On Confessions, which I wrote all the lyrics to,I wanted to stay away from anything serious, even though the word "confession" implies seriousness.I just wanted to make a frivolus dance record, and with this one I had to dig deeper and go to a different place. For me,it's a true collaboration, intellectually and artistically. ***ON TURNING 50 THIS YEAR---Age is an advantage in terms that you've got alot more experience and you tend not to make the same mistakes. And you feel a bit wiser and less impulsive. It's great to feel experienced. But I also work with people who are half my age,so I feel like I have to work even harder to keep up with everybody...but the fact of the matter is,I can kick all of their asses! I guess I'm OK for now (laughs). It does keep the flame under my foot, though.
