Anyone been to the FIllmore/State Theater in Detroit?

I'm going to a concert there this weekend. I literally have spent over 5 hours trying to find out information including calling the venue themselves with no luck. I have two sets of tickets... one is for the floor (general admission) and one is for the reserved mezzanine section, which is a middle level between the floor and balcony.

For anyone who knows, how is that mezzanine section? I'm thinking that with all the people on the floor I might actually see better up top, but I don't want to be too far away.. Not to mention all the crying, sweaty, emo kids jumping all over me and people landing on my head. If the mezz kinda sucks then I will deal with the floor haha. But if I can get the same experience or better then I'll take the mezz. I'd like to be as close as possible while getting a good show I guess.

I haven't been but I think I've seen videos on Youtube from the Mezzanine level which is better than a balcony view I could guess and still a good view of the stage.

You have to think about how a theatre was designed for an audience looking at the stage. I would worry more if I had tickets to a concert in a hockey arena that isn't really designed for seeing (or hearing) a stage at one end.

Been there many times. To me the mezzanine is the best place to see the show. Sound is usually better on the floor, though. It's a cool little venue. Seen Lenny Kravitz there. From the mezzanine you could see Craig Ross playing the solos in the shadows, while Lenny mimed in the spotlight. Prince played a Jam Of The Year show there once and it was chaos as it got too hot for the people down on the floor and the sound sucked for the folks up top.
