Well thats the decision for anyone and everyone that is in "pop", its what else can you bring to the game, and can u deal with "not selling", this is a major issue with most singers that have been around, like janet, madonna, mariah. I give you the "filler" review clearly, but i think you gotta pin that on who is producing it and basically creating the songs, she is nothing more than the person given the song to sing whatever way they want. So if everyone is gonna do a Ne-yo track, than after awhile its just gonna lay there and sound like nothing, and HITS really dont mean that much and arent really a fair testament to anyones work, and i look at HITS like i would look at a Baseball Game, it doesnt matter if you get more hits its what you do with them. The Mets one time got 17 hits and lost the game 4-3 to the Braves who only got 4 hits, their 4 hits were all solo Homeruns, and thats how i kind of look at someones Hits or a run they may be on.

As for Nicole i think she should/will do one more PCD album and than my advice would be to walk away and create your own sound/voice/songs, this year she is turning 30 which is considered VERY OLD in the Pop game.

i call bullshit. Take a track like Erykah Badu's "Bag Lady". There's almost nothing to it yet Erykah makes it "pop". You play the cards handed to you and do your best. If that's her best, she NEEDS better tracks because she can't deliver the goods on her own. See, that's what I mean when I say I'm not so sure she's ready to play in the arena with the big girls yet. She's a good pop chick; I think she should play her position. Another PCD CD is in order. I knew she was messin' up when she started singing hooks on other peoples' shit. A Puffy duet? Come on. i'd like to think she can do better but I'm not holding my breath. J-Lo coudn't sing worth shit so what'd she do? She GOT BETTER TRACKS. She needs to yell at some label heads instead of ego-stroking like a vocal stripper. Tell them mutha suckas their shit ain't crackin'. Its better to be known as a "bitch" and have good tracks than to be known as sociable and have bullshit records.

Theres just no need for another pop chick at this point because its all being done, the game lost its variety because the same few people are running the show and wanted to cash in on whats hot now. Scan the list of producers on the new janet and mariah discs, do you think that was by choice of them or choice of what the label was gonna shell out for some hits? i think its more the second than anything though im sure either one will say that they chose who to work with i think we can be safe to say thats more what LA and Def Jam paid for. Its just like politics who ever pays more the campaign wins, it has nothing to do whether youre smarter or a better candidate, if that were the case almost none of these people would be running. As for her future with Universal that is really up in the air mainly because PCD is not her group, she was hired on a one off basis to make this album, now, the last thing that Iovine thought was that he would have a group sell 2+ million in the states and 6-8 worldwide, so they can either loose that "cash cow" or take it another step. From what i have seen/heard about Iovine he's smart but he's infamous for making "bad calls" and also for holding up cds to get the climate right and than walking away from the cds which in turn costs the label tons of money. So i dont hold my breath for anything that goes on with him at all, regardless of the fact that he takes credit for people like Gwen Stefani, who had hits and "clout" long before he even heard of her. As for JLO she could get better stuff because she was JLO, like it or not, or whether she could sing or not, she had the money and the pull to get what she wanted.

They wanna see janet getr big numbers...her last albums did indeed go platinum..but how long did it take? This doestn happen for megasuperstars. SO yeah they put her up there with the big producers..mix them up and then see what happens. If it dont work oh well, J&T will get her back again. Def Jam is trying to get her out of being soely produced by J&T even with the risks it may have on the music.

Nicole should stay in PCD until the time is right. I aint ready for her yet really. She too new to the game...she need to sit her ass down somewhere, stop tryin to pull a Diana when ya ass aint even got 3 or 4 albums behind ya back. Beyonce was smart.

From the reviews it's one of Janet's best albums. I agree about Nicole - the Flopzinger virus gets 'em every time. wink

Well thats the intelligence of Jimmy Iovine over at Universal who dont know shit. He screwed up big time, the second PCD was scheduled to be done and out for May/June of 2008, but he wanted a solo record now, he felt do this now and cash in, hes typical business like anyone else. His work with Gwen Stefani showed his lack of "knowing" he pushed that too far also, one solo album OK, but the second was purely to cash in, now No Doubts future doesnt look too good, though they are recording theres clashes because the label wants them to stick with what they did with Gwen, which was sound like everyone else.

As for Janet/Mariah i dont even have to look at reviews or numbers because its all bought and sold already, whether the albums will actually be good albums has nothing to do with it, people tend to confuse numbers in good and bad, for the most part the majority of the public is usually wrong. It was like that back in 2004 for Prince with Musicology, bought and sold, it had nothing to do with that record, for the most part that was shit he was doing for a decade, only now the airtime was given to him, because it was his time for a wave. Thats why i will always call this decade the HYPE decade, youre just being sold HYPE thats it. So regardless of the material within the Janet/Mariah/Madonna or whoevers record (pick any icon in POP) the time is bought, the media, the airplay, the store support etc...thats the way the business works over the last decade or so, ive seen this movie plenty of times.

And btw Nicole is turning 30 so right there, that is too old to be doing what she is doing, and the bigger issue and this disturbs me but doesnt surprise me, labels want her to supress her ethnic roots, they cant market her as hawaiian/filipino, they need her to be white or black, her look is a real problem for them because they cant target anyone, which is why i say go back to the way she started back in the late 90's singing rock material. Going the mainstream pop/rb route is for kids at this point.

Well if nothing else, this track will give her much needed exposure. If she's to go solo at any point, she needs to have a couple of tracks under her belt that people like outside of the pussycat dolls.

Hype does help slaes...and you are right...since 1998 there has been the push for hype. It all started when Master P would put out the little ad's for his upcoming artists..then Puffy did the same. Then all of a sudden hype between artists were building. With the Nsync vs. Backstreet and Xtina Vs. Britney. Back then I never heard hype about Missy or Timbaland or the 'next Michael Jackson' or the 'next Janet'. That just didnt happen. Its the record labels and magazines that go fanatic over an artist that has one or 2 albums.

Nicole is pushin 30??? I had no idea. Thought she was like 25.

But I am glad this song make you happy! I even held back on sidy remarks, that I would normally make.

Like 'why is this song not a global hit?' Cuz it sucks, that's why.

But I didn't! I could have pointed out that and days like these, when Timba recorded this, his loop machine was set to 'boring'.

And indeed, dayum, that mask, wha't up with that.

I don't need help cuz I got THIS, even though there IS a Timba song on there, actually;

That makes no sense, as Timbaland's string of hits continued long after Wait a Minute charted (and respectably, I might add, at #28).

If they did a No Nicole Remix, I'm sure this would go Top 10. lol

Probably because she shouldnt be singing material beneath her which is what i always said in the first place.

So is she incapable of standing up for herself and demanding something "worthy" of her apparent talents?

When you are under a deal u dont have the option of "demanding" unless you have some clout, despite being known, they arent too many that have the "clout" to "demand" at a label.

I'm not digging this song at all. Maybe because I typed in 'Scream' and expected to see MJ and Janet, but instead got some chick screeching like a banshee with Tim doing his usual ad libbing over it. I think it's annoying and unoriginal and I actually like Keri Hilson and Timbaland....Nicole Shesfullydressed or whatever her last name is ain't my cup of tea, especially after that last live performance she did with Will.I.Am on the AMAs I believe it was. Both of them were awful and the only good thing about that performance was it made me laugh harder than I had laughed in a long time and laughter is good for the heart and soul. lol Between that butt ugly outfit she was rocking and Will's hilarious dancing which resembled seizures, I was laughing for the rest of the night. I'm not a Nicole hater, because I actually liked 'Wait A Minute" and "StickWitU", so no meanness to me. hmph!
