YUMA, Ariz. -- According to the U.S. Border Patrol, rap star Dwayne M. Carter a.k.a. Lil Wayne has been charged with multiple drug-related felonies.

A border patrol press release said he was stopped around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at a traffic checkpoint near Dateland, Ariz. along with 11 “members of his group.”

Police said a K9 alerted to Lil Wayne’s charter bus as it arrived at the checkpoint.

Police said they found “several types of illegal drugs, more than $22,000 in currency and three firearms” – including Carter's pistol.

Police said the seizure totaled 105 grams of marijuana, 29 grams of cocaine and 41 grams of ecstasy. Two passengers were charged with possession of narcotics and Carter was charged with possession of cocaine, ecstasy and paraphernalia.

The drugs and cash were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration, according to police, and the DEA is working with the State of Florida regarding possible firearms related charges.

Carter is a native of New Orleans.

What kills me is that, it says he had 11 people with him, and you are still carrying guns. Rappers pretend to be all street and tough, and yet a weapon is still needed. Like i said "you cant escape the past life if you always take it with you"

Wayne wantsto live up to the lyrics of some of his songs. Anything less, and he looks pretty fake.

But then again, Wayne can still get busted with his pants down:
